The present invention provides a method for delivering adaptive media based on reception status information from a media client and an apparatus using the same. The method for transmitting media by the media transmitting apparatus comprises the steps of: transmitting, to a terminal, a message including configuration information for media requested from the terminal; transmitting media packets forming the media to the terminal; selecting media packets having transmission properties corresponding to reception quality information based on the reception quality information for the media packet received from the terminal; and transmitting the selected media packets to the terminal.

The present invention relates to a disaster alert system and an operation method thereof. The disaster alert system includes a national disaster information center, a digital signage service server, and a digital signage terminal. The national disaster information center receives disaster information from a meteorological administration or an emergency management agency, determines whether to transmit a disaster alert and a disaster alert level, and generates a disaster alert request message including a media formation of disaster information, a propagation area and a propagation target of the disaster information, and the priority of the disaster information. The digital signage service server converts the media formation of the disaster information into a media formation that the digital signage terminal can support, draws a digital signage terminal corresponding to the propagation area and the propagation target of the disaster information, determines how to transfer a disaster alert message according to the priority of the disaster information, and transmits the disaster alert message to the drawn digital signage terminal. PURPOSE: A data streaming service providing method and apparatus thereof are provided to adaptively control the size of a file piece in a streaming service method based on a P2P(Peer to Peer) according to network states, kinds of services, and terminal states. CONSTITUTION: A buffer map calculation unit(107) creates a buffer map based on information for file pieces and the bunch of file pieces included in each peer. The buffer map calculation unit deducts necessary file piece numbers by comparing buffer map information of each peer received through a communication unit. A data transmission unit(111) transmits the bunch of the file pieces or the file piece data by referring to the deducted file piece number through the buffer map calculation unit.
