The present invention relates to a technique for providing an interactive augmented broadcast service. A method for processing augmented broadcast content according to the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving broadcast content, and augmented region information for composing augmented content and the augmented region of the broadcast content; receiving, from a user input device, selection information for selecting any one of a plurality of augmented content devices which provide augmented content; generating an augmented content request message on the basis of the augmented region information and transmitting the augmented content request message to an augmented content device selected according to the selection information; receiving augmented content provided by the augmented content device; and composing the augmented content and the augmented region of a broadcast program using the augmented region information. PURPOSE: A channel adaptive hierarchical broadcast device and a method thereof are provided to resolve the problem of service breakdown and quality decline generated when using an existing single channel by providing channel adaptive hierarchical broadcasts and multimedia services. PURPOSE: A random backoff apparatus for an augmented content reception and a method thereof are provided to enable multiple viewers to efficiently use a bi-directional service by preventing multiple reception terminals from being connected to a program-related website or augmented content at the same time. In case a first random backoff is included in the meta data, the receiving unit (511) of the reception terminal indicates a reception request of augmented content by using the first random backoff.
