    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monopole antenna which has a wide band and a low cost and in which an input impedance and a resonance frequency can be easily finely regulated. SOLUTION: The monopole antenna comprises an elliptical top plate, and a monopole, one end of which is connected to the center of the top plate. As the top plate, in addition to the elliptical shape, a shape is considered in which two orthogonal axes are respectively linearly symmetrical and the lengths of the two axes crossing the shape are different. In order to reduce the radiation of the horizontal component of the electric field, the top plate may be constituted to have a cutout part. Further, in order to make the input impedance or the like of the antenna adjustable, the top plate may be constituted to have bent parts along the axial directions of the top plate. Meanwhile, the monopole may be constituted so as to have a bent part for adjusting the input impedance of the antenna.

SOLUTION: The antenna system 2 incorporates the antenna and a light irradiation part, which radiates the radiation beam area 21 of radio for communication with the ETC on-vehicle machine 10 mounted on the automobile 1 with visible light beams 31 along a center line within the inner range of the area 21. Consequently, the purpose of this system is attained by positioning the machine 10 within the irradiation area of the beams 31. The sensor 40 can decide the irradiation time of the beams 31 by detecting the automobile 1.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a portable terminal to easily receive a radio wave from a satellite by providing a reflecting plate opposite to a satellite communication rod antenna to a lower part of the satellite communication antenna supported downward to support the satellite communication rod antenna in a standby state downward. SOLUTION: The satellite communication rod antenna 7 is supported downward and contained when the portable terminal is not used for a satellite system or awaits a call from the satellite system. Furthermore, the reflection plate 9 is fitted to the portable terminal so as to be projected horizontally from a lower part of an enclosure 1, and when the satellite communication rod antenna 7 is supported downward, the reflecting plate 9 is just opposed to the antenna 7. Then a radio wave emitted from the antenna 7 whose tip is directed downward is reflected in the reflecting plate 9 and emitted upward, and a radio wave from a satellite is reflected in the reflecting plate 9 and received by the antenna 7 set downward. Thus, a thermal noise from the earth can be blocked and the antenna can easily receive the radio wave from the satellite in the standby state.

SOLUTION: An antenna is provided with one cylindrical dielectric 1, four spiral conductors 2a-2d wound to the outer wall of the cylindrical dielectric 1, four spiral conductors 3a-3d adhered to the inner wall of the cylindrical dielectric 1 and feeding circuits 4 and 5 for feeding high frequency power to the conductors 2a-2d on the outer wall of the cylindrical dielectric and the conductors 3a-3d at the inner wall of the cylindrical dielectric. Namely, the spiral conductors are arranged on the outer side and the inner side of the cylindrical dielectric as radiation elements and they are operated as independent helical antennas. The feeding circuits for feeding the high frequency power of desired amplitude/phase are connected to the spiral conductors.

The support 11A is a forming of a boss 11a formed in advance to the inner face 12 of the radome 1A. The metallic patch 2A is inserted to the boss 11a, which is heated and formed to be the support 11A.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To extend the cover area by twisting the cap in the lower end of a helical antenna a desired number of times to direct the radiation pattern to an arbitrary direction. CONSTITUTION:A linear coaxial cable 3 is brought into contact with the outside of a dielectric cylinder 6 in parallel with the cylinder 6 by an adhesive or the like. A connector 10 is provided in the lower end part of the coaxial cable 3, and a balun 5 constituted by bending a coaxial cable having an electrically half-wave length like U is provided in the upper end part of the coaxial cable 3. The extension of the center conductor in the upper end part of the coaxial cable 3 is connected to one center conductor of the balun 5. Meanwhile, helical conductors 1 and 2 are coated with a soft dielectric coating 7 while keeping the interval between two lines fixed, and the pair of helical conductors 1 and 2 are twisted a desired number of times to form spirals. The extension of the center conductor of the balun 5 and that of the upper end part of helical conductors 1 and 2 are connected by feed lines 8 and 9.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To change the radiation directivity and a polarized wave without a design revision of a peripheral structure or the like for the slot antenna formed on a dielectric board. CONSTITUTION:A ground plate 2 is provided to one side of a dielectric board 1 and a feeding microstrip line 3 is provided to the other side respectively. One end 3a of the microstrip line 3 is connected electrically to the ground plate 2 by using a throughhole 4 penetrated through the dielectric board 1. Furthermore, a conductive cover 5 enclosing the one-side end 3a of the microstrip line 3 and forming a slot 6 whose length is 172 wavelength in a direction in parallel with the dielectric board 1 together with one end ridge of the ground plate 2 is provided to the other side of the dielectric board 1, and plural parts of the peripheral part of the conductive cover 5 are connected electrically to the ground plate 2 by conductive pins 7. The directivity is caused in a direction in parallel with a plane of the dielectric board.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate a loss caused by a phase-shifter and to make the beam direction of a composite pattern variable at the time of reception by respectively making the phases of the branch outputs of a power distributing means based on bias voltage to be inputted to be variable. CONSTITUTION:At the time of reception, a signal received by a horn antennas 1 and 2 are synthesized with the same phase by way of directional couplers 3 and 4 and reached an input/output terminal 5. Then, a part of the receiving signal is inputted from the connection port of the directional couplers 3 and 4 to amplifiers 6 and 7 as high-frequency amplifiers. The amplifiers 6 and 7 synthesize the receiving signals with the same phase after amplifying it in the case of the same frequency characteristic, and output it to a receiving signal output terminal 8. Namely, if bias terminals 9 and 10 are given bias voltage so that the amplifiers 6 and 7 have the frequency characteristics of the same amplitude and phase, the receiving signal when the center of a beam is in the direction of the front face of the horn antennas 1 and 2 can be obtained. In order to change a pattern only at the time of reception, the phase characteristics of the amplifiers 6 and 7 are changed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily perform the control of the maximum radiant direction by providing each strip conductor on two microstrip lines in nearly plane symmetric shape mutually against a ground plate. CONSTITUTION:The strip conductor 5 and the ground plate 1 are fixed on two planes of a dielectric plate 3 in a first microstrip line, and the strip conductor 6 and the ground plate 1 are fixed on the two planes of a direlectric plate 4 in a second microstrip line, and plural slots 2 are provided at positions corresponding to both side of U-shape parts equivalent to the upper and lower sides of the strip conductors 5 and 6 on the ground plate 1. Exciting phases for right and left slots change based on the path differences l1, and l2, and a beam can be switched by performing feed to a feed part 21 and a feed part 22 at high speed alternately. Thereby, since it is possible to perform the feed by two kinds of feed circuits with desired exciting phases and amplitude, the control of the maximum radiant direction can be easily performed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To catch easily a wave source and further to prevent the false tracing due to a side lobe when a moving body goes out of a shield, by adding a reception intensity comparator to a beam scan tracing apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The level of a reception signal is detected by a reception intensity comparator 5, and when it lowers to a prescribed level or below, a signal (a) is outputted to give a command voltage to a servo amplifier 7 so as to rotate an antenna in one direction. By this operation, the antenna is rotated in one direction notwithstanding a level difference due to beam scanning. Accordingly, a reception level is restored when a moving body goes out of a shield and further when the antenna is directed to a wave source.
