    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a base station may detect one or more base stations based at least in part on synchronization communications associated with the one or more base stations, and may determine one or more priority levels associated with the one or more base stations, wherein a given priority level, of the one or more priority levels, identifies a priority associated with initiating access to a wireless backhaul network via a respective base station of the one or more base stations. The base station may initiate, based at least in part on the one or more priority levels, an access procedure with a set of base stations of the one or more base stations. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) receives a first synchronization signal (SS) block including a first codeword and a second SS block including a second codeword. Each codeword is based at least in part on a linear encoding of a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) payload. The PBCH payloads include different timing indicators. The SS blocks are received at different times separated by a time increment. The UE determines, based at least in part on the time increment, one or more hypotheses of combined decoding metrics for the first codeword and the second codeword; decodes the first codeword based on each of at least one hypothesis in the one or more hypotheses. The at least one hypothesis includes a correct hypothesis; the UE determines the first codeword based at least in part on an error detection procedure such as CRC verification performed when decoding the first codeword based at least in part on the correct hypothesis.

    Abstract: A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station, an indication of uplink transmission resources allocated for a paging response to a paging indication, receiving the paging indication from the base station, and transmitting, to the base station, the paging response to the received paging indication. The paging response is transmitted on at least one of the uplink transmission resources allocated for the paging response. A method for wireless communication at a base station includes identifying uplink transmission resources for paging responses, transmitting an indication of the uplink transmission resources allocated for paging responses, transmitting a paging indication to at least one UE, and receiving a paging response from one or more UEs using a receive beam sweep. The paging response is received on an associated beam on at least one of the uplink transmission resources allocated for paging responses.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for random access channel (RACH) communication. For example, certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication by a user-equipment (UE). The method generally includes transmitting a first message comprising a RACH preamble, receiving a second message comprising random access response (RAR) in response to the RACH preamble, transmitting a third message in response to the RAR, receiving a fourth message (MSG4) comprising a contention resolution message in response to the third message.     Abstract: In a process of beam change, the base station transmits a beam change instruction to a user equipment (UE) to indicate that the base station will change from a current beam to another beam, but the UE may not successfully receive the beam change instruction. The apparatus may be a base station that is configured to address such issues. The base station determines to change from a first beam to a second beam. The base station transmits, to a UE, a beam change instruction to indicate the determination to change to the second beam upon the determination to change to the second beam. The base station determines whether the UE has received the beam change instruction. The base station selects a third beam to communicate with the UE when the base station determines that the UE has not received the beam change instruction, wherein the third beam is a predefined beam.
