Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably supply a liquid to each common channel for the liquid (ink), and to smoothly remove bubbles included in the liquid in each common channel. SOLUTION: An ink manifold 83 is connected to a supply port 22 of a first buffer tank 21. To a supply port 32 of a second (N=2) buffer tank 31, the ink manifold 83 and also a discharge port 23 of the first (N-1th) buffer tank 21 are connected via an opening and closing valve 86. When the ink is ejected by a head chip 60 and a head chip 70, a pump 71 is driven to transfer the ink in a state with the opening and closing valve 86 being opened. When the bubbles in the ink of the buffer tank 21 and the buffer tank 31 are removed, the pump 11 is driven to transfer the ink in a state with the opening and closing valve 86 being closed. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress variation in an ejection characteristic due to variation in a temperature as much as possible when a plurality of head chips are arranged to form a line head. SOLUTION: The line head 10 comprises a nozzle plate 12, an outer frame 11 formed in a frame shape, the plurality of head chips 13, and a head support member 14 disposed in the outer frame 11. A coefficient of linear expansion of each of the nozzle plate 12 and the head support member 14 is greater than that of the outer frame 11. The nozzle plate 12 is bonded to the outer frame 11 and a tensile stress is applied to the nozzle plate 12 by the outer frame 11. The head support member 14 is bonded to the outer frame 11 to be nipped therewith. When the head support member 14 is thermally expanded with respect to the outer frame 11, a compression stress occurs on the head support member 14 and the strain of the head support member 14 is restricted by the outer frame 11. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently carry out liquid discharging performance maintenance by reducing discharge defects of a liquid by a liquid discharging head in a liquid discharging performance maintenance method of a liquid discharging apparatus which discharges a liquid from liquid discharging nozzles of the liquid discharging head. SOLUTION: An ink (predetermined liquid) (i) within a printing head 22 which is supplied from an ink tank 4 to be discharged from the ink discharging nozzle 40a is ejected out of an ink send pipe 159, and bubbles mixed in the ink (i) are removed, whereby the discharge defects of the ink are reduced in the liquid discharging performance maintenance method. A state of the ink (i) in the ink send pipe 159 which ejects the ink (i) within the printing head 22 is detected by a bubble sensor 202. The ink (i) in the printing head 22 is sucked on the basis of the state of the ink (i) by an electrically driven pump 201, whereby bubble removal in the ink (i) is carried out. Hence, the ink discharging performance maintenance is carried out efficiently. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent leakage of liquid from the discharge side under a state capable of sucking liquid with a pressure low enough to sustain a meniscus on the liquid surface in a liquid ejection nozzle. SOLUTION: The circulation pump of liquid ejector comprises liquid inlet 41 and outlet 42 provided at one side part of a pump chamber 22 formed in a pump case 40, a stretchable membrane member 27 arranged on the other side part. Liquid can be sucked into the pump chamber by a suction valve 23 communicating with the inlet 41 of the pump chamber, and liquid can be discharged from the pump chamber by a discharge valve 24 communicating with the outlet 42 of the pump chamber. Liquid is sucked into the pump chamber by pushing the membrane member 27 outward with a rest spring 29 in the pump chamber, and liquid is discharged from the pump chamber by pushing the membrane member 27 inward at an operating section 28 being imparted with a pressing force by a drive section 32 on the outside of the pump chamber. Absolute value of a pressure for opening the discharge valve 24 is set higher than a pressure for opening the suction valve 23. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit a driving force of each driving part to an operation part of each liquid circulating means by combining a head cartridge into an apparatus body part, and to drive at least one of a plurality of the liquid circulating means with an operation timing shifted to that of the others. SOLUTION: The head cartridge 3 equipped with a plurality of liquid delivery pumps 10 including pressure generating parts for circulating ink between a plurality of ink discharging heads 7 and each ink tank 6 is combined into a printer body part 2 equipped with both a plurality of the driving parts 32 for generating the driving force to operate the pressure generating parts of the plurality of liquid delivery pumps 10, and a control part 33 for controlling the operation of these driving parts 32. Hence the driving force of each driving part 32 can be transmitted to the operation part 28 of each liquid delivery pump 10. Moreover, at least one of the plurality of liquid delivery pumps 10 is driven with the operation timing shifted to that of the others. A load of each liquid delivery pump 10 to be applied to the driving part 32 is reduced, and the driving part 32 is made compact and small-powered. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
