Abstract: PURPOSE:To miniaturize and simplify the above magnetic head by providing an objective lens and magnets which generate the magnetic fields for moving and operating the objective lens and impress magnetic fields to a magneto- optical recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A lens bobbin 2 and a cover member 26 to cover the magnets 6 to 11 for driving the objective lens are provided on a base plate 12. The front surface part of this cover member 26 is provided with an aperture 27 in such a manner that the front surface part of the bobbin 2 including the objective lens 1 faces outward. The magnet 25 for impression of an external magnetic field supported in a magnetic yoke part 24 is disposed in the aperture 27 of the member 26. Since the need for providing the magnet 25 on the side facing the objective lens side is eliminated, the magnetic head is miniaturized and simplified.
