    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injection molded article which utilizes such essential features of a polyolefin resin as toughness, and molding and processing characteristics and which is excellent in resistance to permeation of a liquid chemical and a gas. SOLUTION: The injection molded article comprises a resin composition consisting of (a) 55-95 vol.% of a polyolefin resin and (b) 45-5 vol.% of an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer, and forms a phase structure consisting of (a) a continuous phase comprising a polyolefin resin and (b) a disperse phase in the form of strips comprising an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer in the resin phase separated structure observed with an electron microscope.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoplastic elastomer composition excellent in oil resistance, rubber elasticity, mechanical characteristics, abrasion resistance, scratch resistance and moldability, and to obtain moldings from the composition. SOLUTION: This thermoplastic resin composition is characterized in that the composition comprises (A) 90-40 wt.% of a functional group containing olefin copolymer rubber composition modified with a polar functional group containing vinyl monomer and (B) 10-60 wt.% of a polyamide resin composition, the functional group containing olefin copolymer rubber composition (A) is composed of a functional group containing olefin copolymer rubber (a) and a softener (b) for a rubber, the polyamide resin (B) is composed of a polyamide resin (c) and a plasticizer (d) and the functional group-containing olefin copolymer rubber composition (A) is dispersed into the polyamide resin composition (B) to form a phase structure.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition having excellent heat resistance, vibration welding property, etc., suitable for a hollow molding product such as an intake manifold of automobile by compounding a nylon resin with a bis unsaturated fatty acid ester of a specific polyalkylene glycol and a glass fiber in specific amounts, respectively. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a nylon resin (e.g. nylon 66, etc.), with (B) 0.1-30 pts.wt. of a bis unsaturated fatty acid ester of a polyalkylene glycol of the formula (R1 is a 6-40C unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon; n and m are each 0 or >=1; n+m is 5-100) and (C) 10-150 pts.wt. of a glass fiber. A bisoleic acid ester of polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol or polyethylene/propylene glycol copolymer is preferable as the component B. Preferably the composition is further compounded with 0.1-50 pts.wt. of a modified ethylene/α-olefin-based copolymer.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition for welding, exhibiting high weld strength in addition to excellent characteristic properties of nylon resin such as moldability, heat-resistance and toughness and giving a weld resin article having high weld strength by compounding a nylon resin, a polyolefin resin and glass fiber at specific ratios. SOLUTION: The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a nylon resin with (B) 0.1-50 pts.wt. of a polyolefin resin and (C) 10-150 pts.wt. of glass fiber. Preferably, the composition is produced by melting and kneading 100 pts.wt. of the component A, 0.1-50 pts.wt. of the component B, 10-150 pts.wt. of the component C and (D) 0-3 pts.wt. of a copper compound and (E) 0-5 pts.wt. of a silicone compound or by melting and kneading 100 pts.wt. of the component A with 10-150 pts.wt. of the component C, 0-3 pts.wt. of the component D and 0-5 pts.wt. of the component E and kneading 0.1-50 pts.wt. of the component B to the obtained mixture. The welding is preferably carried out by vibration welding, injection welding, ultrasonic welding, etc.

SOLUTION: Vibration welding resin compositions comprise (A) 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin and (B) 0.1-50 pts.wt. layer silicate which is a swelling layer silicate and vibration welding resin compositions comprise (A) 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin, (B) 0.1-50 pts.wt. layer silicate which is a swelling layer silicate, and (C) 10-150 pts.wt. glass fibers having an average fiber diameter of 5-15 μm. Further, the layer silicate (B) is the one in which exchangeable cationic ions present between layers have been exchanged with organic onium ions, and the thermoplastic resin (A) is at least one resin selected from a polyamide resin, a polyester resin, and a polyphenylene sulfide resin.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compsn. having excellent mechanical characteristics, heat resistance, moldability, and dimensional stability, and also a small change in the toughness deterioration and in the dimension at the time of water absorption. SOLUTION: A resin compsn. comprises 100 pts.wt. of component (A) of a polyamide resin which consists of 75-45 mole % of (a) hexamethylene terephthalamide unit, 10-25 mole % of (b) hexamethylene terephthalamide and/or hexamethylene hexahydro-terephthalamide units and 15-30 mole % of (c) an aliphatic polyamide unit having the number of carbon atoms per one amide group (amide group concn.) of 8 or more and which has the properties within the range described below and 0.1-50 pts.wt. of component (B) of a nonhalogen- based flame retardant. (1) an m.p.: not lower than 280 deg.C to lower than 325 deg.C. (2) a glass transition point at the time of satd. water absorption which is determined by a viscoelastic measurement, of 40 deg.C or above, and also a loss elastic modulus having at least one peak of plurally observed ones, at 80 deg.C or above.
