Abstract: A system and methods that enable a restoration scheme for power distribution systems that is independent of power distribution system component configuration, the number of power distribution system components, and component settings are provided. In a power distribution system, a number of intelligent reclosers having restoration control modules are deployed that execute a restoration scheme. The intelligent reclosers constantly poll cooperating power distribution lines to determine changes in current or voltage provided by the power distribution lines. In the event of a power distribution system fault, the reclosers act in accordance to a predefined restoration scheme to reanimate the unaffected portions of the failing power distribution system.

Abstract: The actuator (2) can be used to apply fluids to the web of a papermaking machine. The actuator comprises a housing (4) having a first inlet (16) connectable to the fluid source and a second inlet (10) connectable to a pressure source. A resilient bellows structure (30) extends between the first and second inlets within the housing to define an internal region of the bellows structure in sealed communication with one of the first and second inlets and an external region of the bellows structure in sealed communication with the other inlet. A valve member (50) adapted to move with the bellows structure is provided to open and close the first inlet to vary the flow of fluid from the fluid source and maintain a pressure related to a balance of forces of the bellows structures. An outlet (58) from the housing in communication with the first inlet permits the exit of the flow of fluid to a flow controlling orifice. A pneumatic control signal provided to the second inlet controls expansion or contraction of the bellows structure.

Abstract: An electronic meter incorporates a TCP/IP protocol suite and an HTTP server (24) to provide two-way access to the meter incorporated into a gateway (20) serving multiple meters connected through a power line or wireless two-way network. The gateway (20) may incorporate an HTTP server (24) for accessing data from multiple meters (40) and for transmission of data to individual meters (40). Other aspects of the disclosed system include the use of a common gateway interface (26) for remote access to meter data and to set meter parameter using HTML forms in HTTP browsers; remote reading and setting of multiple meter parameters using a TCP/IP protocol suite; a TCP/IP protocol suite implemented in designated notes in a CEBus LAN (42) with remote access through TCP/IP (43) to routers and broutes and to individual meters on the LAN; and a SLIP-PPP (21) enabled gateway for remote TCP/IP access (22) through a serial interface to a single or multiple meter parameters.

Abstract: One or more apparatuses are provided for forming a seal between a circuit breaker (108) and an enclosure (102). A adjustable door assembly (200) comprises an inner floating frame assembly (214) positioned according to a floating configuration between a first external flange (205) and a second external flange (201) that connect to an enclosure door (104) of an enclosure (102) housing a circuit breaker (108). The inner floating frame assembly (214) comprises an inner floating frame (204) and an inner floating box frame (202). An adjustable coupling is used to apply a force, between the inner floating frame (204) and the inner floating frame box (202), to the inner floating box frame (202) towards a front side (110) of the circuit breaker (108) to form a seal between the front side of the circuit breaker (108) and the enclosure door (104). The seal may provide a barrier for mitigating arc flash, hazardous gases, material, and/or explosive force from escaping from a backside (108a) of the circuit breaker (108).

Abstract: The present invention is directed to an analyzer for measuring the vapor pressure of a hydrocarbon liquid. The analyzer includes a pressure measuring system connected to an air saturation system having a circulation chamber with opposing first and second ends. A first opening is disposed toward the first end and a second opening is disposed toward the second end. A plumbing system connects the first and second openings. A pump moves the hydrocarbon liquid through the plumbing system from the first opening to the second opening so as to saturate the hydrocarbon liquid with air. The air saturation system has a cooler for cooling the hydrocarbon liquid and the pressure measuring system has a heater for heating the hydrocarbon liquid. The pump may be a piston actuated pump or a motor-driven pump and the plumbing system may include an aeration chamber.

Abstract: A method replaces a saturable core reactor (SCRs) in a rectifier power transformer disposed in a transformer vault at its field location. The transformer has an oil-filled tank housing the SCRs. The tank has a manhole opening therein. A busbar structure is associated with each SCR. The method drains the oil from the tank. A busbar structure is disconnected from an associated SCR. The disconnected busbar structure is moved away from the transformer. The SCR is removed from the tank through the manhole opening and is lowered. The SCR is then conveyed from the transformer vault. A replacement SCR is moved to be adjacent the manhole opening and is then slid through the manhole opening and into the tank to a certain location. The busbar structure is moved so as to be associated with a replacement SCR and is connected to the replacement SCR.
