Abstract:
A filter candle element which is mounted in depending manner in a pressure container has a support body and a filter tissue which covers the support body and has at least one impermeable portion so as to prevent the depositing of a continuous filter cake. Through provision of a plurality of impermeable portions, the filter cake is divided into several pieces which do not obstruct their removal. The impermeable portions are obtained by spraying of synthetic material onto the filter tissue. These filter candle elements are especially suitable for alluvial filters of large dimensions.
Abstract:
A candle filter assembly for a filter device includes, in an exemplary embodiment, a tubular core having an outer surface and an inner surface, and including a plurality of openings extending therethrough, a filter media supported by the core defining a core and filter media subassembly, and a drain pipe including a plurality of openings extending therethrough to permit fluid to flow between an outer surface of the drain pipe and the inside of the drain pipe. The drain pipe is located inside the core. The candle filter assembly also includes an end cap, a first sealing block including a drain pipe opening. The drain pipe extends through the drain pipe opening in the first sealing block. The candle filter assembly further includes a compression nut threadingly engaging the drain pipe extending through the first sealing block.
Abstract:
A filter element assembly has at least two cylindrically shaped and concentrically arranged filter media sleeves (11, 12) each connected at one end thereof to an inlet plate (13) and each connected at the other end to a closed end plate (20). Openings (16) are provided in the inlet plate (13) to permit entry of liquid (A) to be filtered into the annular space between the filter sleeves (11, 12). The closed end plate (20) prevents flow of unfiltered liquid from the annular space between the sleeves so as to force the liquid through the porous media of the sleeves to effect filtration.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filtering system for separating the solid phase in a slurry from the liquid phase. SOLUTION: The method of forming a filter cake from a slurry comprises the steps of: feeding the slurry into a filter housing that includes a plurality of vertical filter elements; pressing the slurry into the filter housing against the filter elements resulting in (i) a filtrate passing through the filter elements and exiting out an exhaust port of the filter housing; (ii) forming a solid cake on the filter elements; feeding a wash liquid into the filter housing while draining out the slurry by opening the slurry drain valve; closing the slurry drain valve and then continually feeding wash liquid through the cake and into the filter tube; stopping the feed of wash liquid; introducing a gas and draining out the wash liquid by opening a bottom drain valve; stopping the gas flow and opening a drain valve to exit most of the gas and remaining wash liquid; opening the bottom cake discharge valve; and back pulsing by a gas to break and to release the filter cake from the filter elements. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for filtering and/or stabilizing fluid, especially beer, and a precoat filter applied in the method. SOLUTION: This precoat filter is provided by equipping an inlet port 2 for prefiltrate, a prefiltrate chamber 5 and a filtering vessel 12 consisting of a plurality of filter candles 10 arranged in the prefiltrate chamber and an outlet port 3 for the filtrate. In order to achieve the improvement of the precoat and decrease of a mixture, at least one outlet port for the prefiltrate is arranged in the prefiltrate chamber. The method for filtering the prefiltrate by using the above device is also provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
A beer filter comprises a filter boiler (12) having a filtrate inlet (2) and non-filtrate chamber (5) in which several filter candles (10) are arranged. The candles have outlet lines (13a-e) so that the filtrate is fed from the candles via the outlet lines to outlets (3a, 3b). Preferred Features: The filter candles have outlet lines arranged in two groups so that the filtrate is fed from the candles via the outlet lines to at least two outlets. The outlet lines are tubular lines into which the filter candles open. The outlet lines comprise closed tubes which lie parallel and vertical to the candles.
