Abstract:
A CO2 concentration device has an adsorbent body formed from sheet material. Solid adsorbent particles are adhered onto at least a single surface of the sheet material and then the sheet material is wound onto itself or laminated in layers. The adsorbent body is divided into at least into a processing zone and a regeneration zone. CO2 is adsorbed in the processing zone when the processing zone is wet with water and a CO2 containing gas is passed through. The regeneration zone desorbs CO2 when saturated steam is passed through. Condensation heat from the steam condensing causes CO2 desorption. The solid adsorbent particles may be aligned in a linear or a staggered arrangement when the solid adsorbent particles are adhered to the sheet material to follow a gas flow and form gas introduction paths between adjacent layers of the sheet material.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for washing a filter (F) having at least two layers of filtering media (4, 5) for raw water containing components having a tendency to form cakes (M), in particular for seawater, the layers of filtering media being supported by a base (6) comprising pass-through openings and provided with nozzles (6a) enabling air and/or wash water to be injected, the raw water flowing through the layers from top to bottom and the treated water being recovered at the lower portion of the filter, and which comprises at least one spillway (D) at the upper portion thereof for collecting the wash water. The method includes the following series of steps: a) the raw water intake (2) is closed, followed by the filtration outlet valve (13), the filter is depressurized, and the filter cake is broken; b) the water level in the filter is lowered; c) only pressurized air is blown into the lower portion of the filter, said air passing through the layers of the filter from bottom to top and causing the cakes to be reduced to particles, in particular by means of friction; d) rinsing is carried out from bottom to top using only water, the water rinsing time being sufficiently short to ensure that the water level stops below the level of the upper edge of the wash water collection spillway; e) the filter water is emptied once again by discharging same from the lower portion of the filter; f) steps c), d) and e) are repeated at least once, and a final rinsing is carried out by injecting a quantity of backwashing water through the bottom portion of the filter, which is then discharged from the upper portion of the filter via a pipe (14).
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is an apparatus for filtering sewage and wastewater. The filtering apparatus has a vertical structure including a filtering belt comprising a filter bag or a filter mesh that can filter out fine impurities. For this, the filtering apparatus includes a drive motor that receives power to drive the apparatus, an upper drive drum that is operated by the drive motor, a lower rotating drum that is interlocked with the upper drive drum, and a filtering belt that is wound and rotated around the upper drive drum and the lower rotating drum. The filtering apparatus cannot only filter out fine impurities less than from 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm but also separate earth and sand, unlike conventional filtering apparatuses that cannot conduct them. Furthermore, because the filtering apparatus can be placed upright or inclined at a predetermined angle, it can be used in a water inlet passage that is 4 m to 5 m underground, and impurities filtered out from water can be transferred to a height higher than 10 m above ground.

Abstract:
A waste filtration system is provided, suitable for separating waste content in a waste stream, for use in heat recovery, including a filter screen, auger and extractor pump. A novel filtering process includes steps of adjusting extraction rate of waste content by feedback measurement such that a target set-point is maintained. The feedback control is provided by either use of a variable speed motor detecting load change on the auger or sensors correlated to waste content, and displacement type extraction pump The waste filtration system can be used in a closed loop without leaks or open waste. The resulting filtered fluid is suitable for improving performance in heat exchange and recovery arrangements.
