Abstract:
A process for producing long length fluoride glass preforms, by producing a fluoride glass rod of core glass, overcoating the core glass rod with fluoride cladding glass to form a core/clad unit, and overcoating the core/clad unit with an oxide glass overclad.
Abstract:
Optical transmission line glass includes phosphorus pentoxide and germanium dioxide as the major glass forming oxides and gallium trioxide for waterproofing and refractive index control. A method of manufacture of such glass material utilizes a gas phase chemical reaction.

Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing fluorophosphate optical glass by melting a glass raw material, clarifying and homogenizing the molten glass and quenching, where bubbles are not generated in the glass even if the glass is flown from a clarifying tank that is set to a high temperature to a working tank that is set to a low temperature.SOLUTION: The content of Fe in terms of FeOand the content of Cu in terms of CuO are controlled so that the total of the contents of Fe and Cu is 20 ppm or more, and the obtained fluorophosphate optical glass has such a transmittance property that the internal transmittance in terms of a thickness of 10 mm becomes 98% or more in a wavelength region at least from 400 to 500 nm.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a material for an objective projection lens for liquid immersion lithography which contacts with a liquid immersion medium. SOLUTION: A phosphate glass containing an alkaline earth oxide is formed by preparing a reaction zone on a deposition burner, supplying a synthetic phosphorus compound to be oxidized and an alkaline earth compound, forming amorphous oxide particles under the existence of an oxygen-containing gas, and depositing the particles on a carrier. The refractive index of the phosphate glass is at least 1.6 at a wave length of 193 nm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
