Abstract:
A powdered chemical mixture for lubricating photoreceptors, wiper blades, doctor blades and slide seals used on dry toner printers, copiers, and facsimile machines. The dry powder comprises a mica group mineral wet-ground to attain cold, dry lubricity, resiliency and particle alignment. The wet-ground mica-group mineral may be coated by calcium stearate to increase lubricity and reduce static electricity from the photoreceptor and blades during operation of the machine. The optimum powder would be comprised of 99% by weight mica-group mineral and 1% by weight calcium stearate. Muscovite and phlogopite are mica-group minerals suggested for use in the lubricating powder. The calcium stearate could also be used with powdered lubricants other than mica to reduce static electricity during operation of the machines.
Abstract:
A process for coating a machine part surface wherein the surface is cleaned, abraded and treated so as to render the surface directly bondable to a resin-bonded lubricant coating. A resin-bonded lubricant coating then is directly applied to the treated machine part surface and cured so as to cross-link the resin.

F., and an at least partially soluble acid, the mixture being a cooling fluid, maintaining substantial contact between the cooling fluid and an amount of transition metal or alloy containing at least one transition metal, sufficient to catalyze a reaction within the fluids during fabrication, and operating a tool while maintaining substantial contact between the tool and the fluid during fabrication.
Abstract:
Lubricant system for sheet and section rolling mills, containing a solid lubricant, an adhesive component and/or a thickening agent, and also water as a carrier medium. The lubricant system is sprayed onto the working cylinder in the roll stand as a suspension, at least some of the water evaporating and a firmly adhering, waterproof, lubricating and separating film forming on the working cylinders.
Abstract:
The present invention includes a method for the manufacture of a bearing seal which includes providing a polymer and/or a filler coated with a polymer and thereafter heating the coated filler to bond the copolymer to the filler. Following cooling of the coated filler, it is pulverized and added to granular polytetrafluoroethylene. This admixture is then mixed to obtain a uniform blend and thereafter shaped by compacting and heating into a preselected form. Fillers suitable for the present invention may be carbon, metal, glass, carbide, disulfide, polymeric, polyester fluoride and ceramic fibers.
Abstract:
A method to make a graphite block of any desired size and with over 99% carbon purity and high density is provided. The graphite block is obtained by mixing graphite flakes of any size with graphene oxide sheets and subjecting the mixture to elevated temperature and pressure. With this method large graphite blocks can be obtained economically and fast. The graphite blocks of this invention have superlubricity characters.
Abstract:
A spherical annular seal member 38 is used in an exhaust pipe joint and includes a spherical annular base member 36 defined by a cylindrical inner surface 32, a partially convex spherical surface 33, large- and small-diameter side annular end faces 34 and 35 of the partially convex spherical surface 33, and an outer layer 37 formed integrally on the partially convex spherical surface 33 of the spherical annular base member 36. The spherical annular base member 36 includes a reinforcing member made from a metal wire net 5 and a heat-resistant material containing expanded graphite filling meshes of the metal wire net 5 of this reinforcing member and compressed in such a manner as to be formed integrally with this reinforcing member in mixed form. In the outer layer 37, the reinforcing member, the heat-resistant material, and the solid lubricant are integrated in mixed form.
Abstract:
Provided is a high durability thermally conductive composite containing 0.5-10 volume % of a high molecular weight silicone with vinyl groups on both ends with viscosity at 25 DEG C. of 10000-15000 Pa·s, 1-10 volume % of an alkylalkoxysilane, and 40-65 volume % of an inorganic filler with the remainder being an addition-reacting low molecular weight silicone with viscosity at 25 DEG C. of 0.2-0.5 Pa·s. Also provided is a grease characterized in containing 38-48 volume % of an addition-reacting low molecular weight silicone with viscosity at 25 DEG C. of 0.2-0.5 Pa·s, 2-8 volume % of a high molecular weight silicone with vinyl groups on both ends with viscosity at 25 DEG C. of 10000-15000 Pa·s, and 50-60 volume % of an inorganic filler. It is preferable that the alkylalkoxysilane is a triethoxysilane or trimethoxysilane wherein the number of carbons in the alkyl groups is six to ten.

Abstract:
A method for lubricating a metal workpiece during a metalworking process includes delivering supercritical carbon dioxide to the workpiece during the metalworking process. The supercritical carbon dioxide acts as a lubricant, coolant, chip evacuator, and/or carrier for another lubricant or corrosion inhibitor.
