Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deposition of ash by precisely predicting ash deposition in a heating furnace in which the fuel is a mixture of a metal compound or a metal-containing compound added to a variety of types of solid fuels including bony coal thereby finding an appropriate mixture ratio.SOLUTION: A method for suppressing deposition of ash in a heating furnace comprises: a step (S1) of measuring the composition of the ash component of a plurality of types of solid fuels scheduled for use in a heating furnace and the inorganic composition of a metal compound or a metal-containing compound; a step (S2) of determining a predetermined mixing ratio that provides a composition of an ash component having a slag ratio equal to or less than a standard value, the determination being made on the basis of the composition of the ash component of solid fuel obtained by adding and mixing the metal compound or the metal-containing compound at a plurality of mixture ratios, and on the basis of a slag ratio representing the ratio when a predetermined amount of an ash component precalculated for solid fuel obtained by mixing at the plurality of mixture ratios becomes slag at a predetermined atmospheric temperature and in a predetermined atmospheric gas composition; and a step (S3) of feeding a mixture obtained by adding and mixing the metal compound or the metal-containing compound at a predetermined mixture ratio to the heating furnace as fuel.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical and environmentally suitable method and/or system to remove a gaseous potassium compound, a sodium compound, their elemental species, or their ionic species from a combustion process prior to a catalyst in an SCR is poisoned.SOLUTION: The method for increasing the active life of an SCR catalyst includes steps of: (a) providing at least one kaolin-bearing compound to a combustion zone or flue gas part of a furnace, or boiler prior to entry of the flue gas into an SCR; and (b) permitting the at least one kaolin-bearing compound to react with the gaseous potassium compound and/or sodium compound, or a gaseous potassium-containing compound and/or a gaseous sodium-containing compound present in the combustion zone or flue gas part prior to the entry of the flue gas into the SCR.
