Abstract:
A switch, keyboard and associated methods are provided. In one implementation, the switch includes a housing having a protruding portion configured to be received in an aperture formed on a substrate, a plunger operable to move with respect to the housing, a first contact member located in the housing, and a second contact member extending from the protruding portion of the housing. The second contact member is operable to, based at least in part on the plunger being moved in a first direction, deform to a predefined extent to electrically contact the first contact member. The switch provides a low profile appearance but not compromising the smooth and quickly responsive striking motion for a mechanical switch, such that a clean design can be provided while the input experience and durability are maintained. A keyboard is also provided.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a direct current relay, and more particularly, to a direct current relay capable of reducing an electronic repulsive force generated between a fixed contact and a movable contact by a permanent magnet installed to extinguish an arc. The direct current relay includes: a frame; first and second fixed contacts spaced from each other with a predetermined distance therebetween; first and second magnetic substances formed to enclose a lower part of the first and second fixed contacts; a movable contact movable to contact or to be separated from the first and second fixed contacts, having a first movable contact contactable to the first fixed contact, and having a second movable contact contactable to the second fixed contact; and a pair of permanent magnets installed on long sides of the frame.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a switch provided with self-cleaning contacts used, in particular for actuating a horn for a steering wheel of a motor vehicle. The inventive switch comprises at least two opposite contacts one of which is movable and touches the opposite contact by means of an actuating element. The self-cleaning of the contacts is carried out by the reciprocal sliding thereof, the contact associated with the actuating element is fixed to a supporting element which is embodied in such a way that it is elastic and fixed to an end, an opposite end being free and moveable. Said invention is characterised in that the supporting element (2) from the fixing side outward has an inclined line with respect to the direction of actuation (B) in the direction of said actuating element (14), and subsequently in the direction of the free end thereof. A line is also inclined in the direction of the free end thereof with respect to the direction of actuation (B) starting from the actuating element (14).
Abstract:
In an elastic sheet member of the present invention, a silicon rubber sheet is supported by a fixed member. A wire group functioning as contacts is disposed at either one of the silicon rubber sheet or the fixed member. In other words, electrical continuity paths, which were conventionally provided at a printed circuit board, are basically provided at the elastic sheet member which is formed of a non-conductive material. In accordance with the present invention, there is no need for the printed circuit board to cover a range at which all rubber contacts are disposed, as in conventional art. Accordingly, the printed circuit board can be made compact, space required for placement thereof can be reduced, and degrees of freedom in design are increased.
Abstract:
A key assembly comprising a base (5); a manually operable key (15) secured to, and mounted above the base by, a resilient key mat (26) having an upstanding wall (28). The key (15) is moveable against the resilience of the upstanding wall (28) towards the base (5). A guide assembly (19,20) extends between the base and the key to guide movement of the keys. A membrane (33) is supported on the base (5) and carries a pair of electrically insulated first contacts (35,36), each first contact of the pair being connected to a respective electrical track (37,38) supported on the membrane and extending to a connection location (39). A second contact (22) is provided on the underside of the key or the key mat and has a size and position such that movement of the key (15) towards the base (5) causes the second contact (32) to engage both first contacts (35,36) and thereby electrically connect the first contacts.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A click-action membrane switch unit comprises a flexible base film (101) having two surfaces (101a, 101b), flexible circuits (102, 103) formed on at least one of said two surfaces of the base film (101) and having interdigitating electrode contacts (105, 106), a resist film (111) formed on the flexible circuits (102, 103) and having a window (108) in the region of the electrode contacts (105, 106), a dome-shaped click spring (109) made of electrically conducting material and having an edge (109a) placed on the circuits, and a layer (151) fixed to the other surface of the base film (101) and having an opening (112) formed in the portion of the layer (151) which aligns with the click spring (109).
Abstract:
A keyboard (10) is described including a rigid base member (12) with a pattern of depressions (14) in it, electrical circuitry (16) on a flexible support carried by the base member, and a plurality of domes (24) covering the circuitry. The electrical circuitry defines a plurality of open switches (17) in registry with the pattern of depressions in the base. The pattern of domes is in registry with the open switches. The underside of each dome includes a conductive surface which will complete a connection across a switch when the dome is depressed, whereby the switch circuitry is deflected downwardly into a depression in the base member.
