Abstract:
A foil-type switching element comprises a first elastic carrier foil (A) having a first thickness (a) and a second elastic carrier foil (C) having a second thickness (c) , which are arranged at a certain distance (b) from each other by means of a spacer (B) . The switching element is configured such that a maximum deflection of at least one of said first or second carrier foils is equal to or greater than 4/5 of said distance (b) between said first and second carrier foils and/or a maximum deflection of at least one of said first or second carrier foil is equal to or greater than 4/5 of said thickness of said carrier foil.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to electric engineering and can be used for producing a converter for converting an internal action into electric signal: strain-gauge elements, pressure sensors and button switches in the form of electric signal switching elements. The aim of said invention is to develop a electroactive polymer material exhibiting a high sensitivity to the electrocunductivity of the external actions, for example to a pressure, etc within a wide range of polymer film thicknesses and a high reproducibility of useful properties. The inventive electroactive polymer whose electrical activity depends on the action of external physical fields comprises molecular fragments having a high polarizability and/or a bistable electronic energy structure with respect to an excess electron capture process. Said molecular fragments are bound therebetween through the intermediate elements of a molecular chain. The electroactive molecular fragments form a single macromolecular structure chemically bound through the molecular chains. The material based on said electroactive polymer is embodied in the form of films or fibres or coatings or bodies of rotation. At least one geometrical size defining a material form is equal or less than the double penetration depth of a surface charge.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an input device (13) of an electronic device, especially a handheld electronic device, comprising a plurality of input sections which are at least partially multifunctional. A pressure sensor arrangement (13) comprising individual, especially analog, pressure sensors is associated with input sections and the pressure sensors are connected to the inlets of a sensor signal evaluation unit which emits control signals associated with the input sections in a clearly defined manner.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Data processing apparatus (101 and 102) configured to receive signals from an input sensor (106) arranged to duplicate or replace operations of a keyboard, in which the signals correspond to positions of mechanical interactions with the sensor (106). The apparatus comprises processing means (1202) configured to process data derived from the input sensor including positional data corresponding to the position of a mechanical interaction with said input sensor (106) and a second data type corresponding to the absence of a mechanical interaction with said input sensor. The processing means (1202) is configured to generate data representing a first character in response to processing an item of data of said second type followed by positional data corresponding to a first position, and to generate data representing a different second character in response to processing positional data corresponding to a different second position followed by an item of data of said second type.
Abstract:
A method and computer to provide control of vibrations of a controller used in video game machines provided with the controller. The method uses a computer having two or more controllers each of which has a pressure-sensitive unit and a vibration unit. Based on the output value from the pressure-sensitive unit of one of the controllers, vibration is caused in the vibration unit of the other controller, and based on the output value from the pressure-senstive unit of the other controller, vibration is caused in the vibration unit of the first one of the controllers.
Abstract:
A cluster key arrangement (10) may be mechanically configured or electronically configured. The cluster key arrangement (10) may include twelve cluster keys (12, 14) configured in an arrangement of three columns by four rows, such as conventionally found on standard telephones (20). The cluster key arrangement may also be configured for use on cellular/mobile telephones, television remote controls, other handheld data entry devices, automotive controls, desktop/wall-mounted/cordless telephones, combination telephone recorders, personal digital assistants, and other electronic devices. The mechanically or electronically configured cluster keys provide a user with the ability to select one of a plurality of key elements representing numbers, letters, symbols, functions, etc., in a mutually exclusive manner.
Abstract:
It is an object of the present invention to provide a remote control device which allows various operations and prevents complicated operations. A remote control device for remotely controlling an AV (audio visual) device includes an analog switch (30) formed of an operating element (31 or 41) and a pressure-sensitive resistor (35) which outputs a signal with various levels depending upon a pressing force applied to the operating element (31 or 41). By employing the analog switch (30) in a control button of the remote control device, it becomes possible to output a signal having various levels depending upon a pressing force applied to the control button (31 or 41). This allows a single control button to be used for a plurality of functions. Thus, it is possible to reduce the number of buttons, and a user can easily operate the remote control device in a simpler fashion.
