Abstract:
A plurality of picture image data obtained from a film in one film handling operation by a film scanner with the automatic film feeding function are output as prints by a digital printer and also as files in a recording medium by file outputting means. In the system for providing the above two kinds of output services, the numbers of film scanners, file outputting means. and digital printers are decided so that the processing performance of each kind of apparatus in a unit time × the number of each kind of apparatus is almost the same, to make each kind of apparatus comprising the system demonstrate its full performance. A medium image obtaining means for obtaining an image file recorded in a medium and digital camera image obtaining means may further be provided so that the above two outputting services are promptly provided for a picture image such as a processed image recorded in a medium and brought into a service provider by a customer and a picture image recorded by a digital camera, whereby one system can carry out film reading, image obtaining from a medium or a digital camera, picture print generation, and writing a picture image in a recording medium.

Abstract:
The improved print system comprises an acquisition device for acquiring identifying information, a memory in which the identifying information acquired by the acquisition device and information about the image processing that was performed to produce a print reproducing an image in each of frames that was recorded on a film are stored in correspondence with each other, and a condition setting device which, when producing a print, sets image processing conditions in accordance with the image recorded on the film and which, when producing a re-print of the print, retrieves from the memory the information about image processing that corresponds to the identifying information, and which sets image processing conditions. This print system enables the production of re-prints that feature consistent reproduction of an image having the same color and density as the image reproduced by simultaneous printing and, hence, re-prints that fully meet a customer's request can be outputted in a satisfactory manner.
Abstract:
Abstract:
In order to accurately perform correction of focal distance and color of film before pre-scanning, the image at the generally center area of the first frame of film is read in a first pre-scan, auto-focusing and judgment between negative/positive is made, exposure parameters are set in a second pre-scanning, and the image is read in main scanning.
Abstract:
In a digital copier in which the copies are made with a reciprocating inkjet printhead, the original image to be copied is pre-scanned at high speed and low resolution, to identify an area in the original image having white space. If the white-space area in the original image is sufficiently large, the action of the printhead can be adapted to skip the corresponding area in the copy sheet in the printing process, thus increasing the overall throughput of the digital copier. An analogous technique can be used to identify non-halftone or non-color portions of an original image, which can be printed with fewer than a maximum number of passes of the printhead over a specific area of the copy sheet.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is provided for scanning original images (108) wherein the original images are scanned by a scanner (106) and processed in a computer workstation (104). The scanning of a original image is carried out simultaneously with the processing of at least one other original image. A method and apparatus for scanning an original image wherein the original image is scanned in bands (410') by a scanner and processed in a computer workstation. The scanning of one band is carried out simultaneously with the processing of at least one other band.
