Disclosed is a portable magnifier camera that can be selectively positioned into a variety of configurations. At least four distinct viewing configurations are provided: a reading mode wherein the camera rests flatly upon the viewed object; a writing mode wherein the camera rests at an angle upon the viewed object; a hand-held mode wherein the user holds the camera relative to a distant object; and an inspection mode wherein the user holds the viewed object relative to the camera. These configurations enable a user to effectively view objects of differing size and at varying distances.

The invention discloses a portable and hand-held scanning device comprising an on/off button mounted to the top of the housing. The user must maintain the on/off button in a pressed position, or an "on" position, for the device to function for the duration of a scanning operation. The device further comprises an LCD display enabling the user to view individual scan lines. The user can scroll through the scan lines by means of a thumb-wheel.

본 발명은 멀티프리뷰에 의한 문서 스캐닝방법을 제공한다. 본 발명에 따른 멀티프리뷰에 의한 문서 스캐닝방법은, 자동문서 공급장치를 구비한 스캐너의 스캐닝방법에 있어서, (a) 복수개의 문서를 프리뷰할 수 있는 멀티프리뷰 기능이 선택되었는지의 여부를 판정하는 단계; (b) 멀티프리뷰 기능이 선택되었으면, 자동문서 공급장치에 적재된 복수개의 문서를 각각 프리스캐닝하여 프리뷰 윈도우에 디스플레이하는 단계; (c) 프리뷰 윈도우에서 상기 복수개의 문서 각각에 대해 스캐닝영역을 설정하는 단계; 및 (d) 설정된 스캐닝영역에 대해 복수개의 문서를 스캐닝하는 단계를 포함함을 특징으로 한다. 본 발명에 따르면, 복수개의 문서를 스캐닝할 때 모든 문서를 프리스캐닝하여 각각의 문서마다 스캐닝영역을 달리 설정하여 스캐닝함으로써, 문서처리 시간을 절약할 수 있다.

PURPOSE: A system and a method for reading images using preview images, and a program for the same are provided to display the preview image fit to a sort of a transparent film without performing pre-scanning again even if the sort of the transparent film is wrongly set. CONSTITUTION: A CCD(Charge Coupled Device)(20) reads the image of the transparent film and outputs an image signal of the image. A display part(23) displays the image of the read transparent film. An image processor(29) executes an image process to the image signal output from the CCD. A system controller(26) makes the CCD read the transparent film by always using the setting fit to a position film regardless of the sort of the transparent film set from a positive/negative setting part. The system controller makes the image processor performs the image process to the image signal output from the CCD according to the sort of the transparent film set from the positive/negative setting part, and makes the display part display the image obtained by the image process.

A viewing aid includes a camera, a viewing surface within a field of view of the camera, a memory, a display, and software programmed to track a tracking element within the field of view. Viewing material is placed on the viewing surface. The camera, viewing surface, and material all remain substantially stationary. The camera captures and stores an initial image of the material in the memory. The software then tracks the location of a tracking element within the field of view then maps the location to a portion of the initial image in memory using an X-Y coordinate system, and/or identifies character elements of the material adjacent the tracking element then maps the character elements to corresponding character elements of the initial image in memory. An enhanced image is then displayed on the display corresponding to the mapped portion of the initial image.

An image capture unit and computer readable medium used in combination therewith includes an image capturing sensor, a visual display, an instance of the computer readable medium, and circuitry for integrating functionalities thereof. The computer readable medium causes sensor data received from the image capturing sensor to be processed. The sensor data includes a plurality of image tiles and position indicating data defining a respective relative position of each one of each image tiles. Each one of each image tiles includes data representing a discrete portion of visual content. The computer readable medium causes a feedback image be displayed on the visual display. Displaying the feedback image includes correlate the relative position of each one of each image tiles with at least one other image tile that has been previously generated and displayed.

A method for creating digital documents from hardcopy documents by means of a reproduction system including a display and a scanner includes detecting an event of an intended scanning of a hardcopy document; upon detection of the event, opening an image adjustment screen at the display, the screen including an image area, a scan settings area and a process button; displaying at the image area of the screen a digital image; displaying, at the scan settings area of the screen, image parameter values; activating the image parameter values by activating the process button; closing the screen at the display; scanning the hardcopy document according to the image parameter values corresponding with the displayed digital image resulting in a digital document; and selecting the digital image to be displayed to be either equal to a digital image that has been previously stored, or equal to a predetermined other digital image.
