Abstract:
The contractible outer-shell apparatus of a scanning device comprises a first shell body and a second shell body. There is a first space in the interior of the first shell body, of which four side-surface constitute one trough opening, and of which one side is provided with a manuscript weight-bearing glass. There is a second space in the interior of the second shell body. The second shell body is incased into the trough opening of the first body, by a way of relative motion which will connect the interior spaces of both the first shell body and the second shell body to a containing space of one body. The second shell body can move upward and downward along the direction confined by the trough opening of the first shell body between a contraction position and a stretch position. In an idle state, the second shell body can be adjusted to a contraction position to reduce the total volume of the device to make it be put away, placed, conveyed easily and to reduce cost.
Abstract:
An electrophotographic recording apparatus has a lid movable to open and close relative to a body of the apparatus, the lid having an exposing unit mounted thereto. The recording apparatus comprises a collapsible mechanism and a drive mechanism (gear mechanism). The exposing unit is suspended from the collapsible mechanism. The gear mechanism is operatively connected to the lid so that when the lid is opened and closed, the gear mechanism drives the collapsible mechanism to deform selectively into the collapsed position and the expanded position, respectively. When the collapsible mechanism is at the expanded position, the exposing unit is accurately positioned relative to an image-forming unit. When the collapsible mechanism is at the collapsed position, the exposing unit is at a retracted position so that the exposing unit allows easy access to the interior of the apparatus. The gear mechanism may include a torque limiter.
Abstract:
Expandable scanner apparatus may comprise a main body with a detector mounted therein. A contact head mounted to the main body can be moved toward and away from the main body between a retracted position and an extended position. An optical system operatively associated with the main body and the contact head focuses on the detector image light from an object being scanned when the contact head is in the extended position.
Abstract:
An image input apparatus includes an original mount for setting an original having an image surface to be input, an input unit, disposed at a position facing the original mount, for inputting the image surface of the original on the original mount, an original-moving unit for moving the original set an the original mount on a plane, and a moving unit for moving the input unit in a direction crossing the moving direction of the original on the plane.
Abstract:
A presentation supporting system is constructed to be space-saving and to allow compact packing under a non-service condition. In the presentation supporting system, the presentation conditions are adjusted adequately without much labor and time. The presentation supporting system of the invention has a table on which a subject matter is placed, a camera head unit for taking a visual image of the subject matter, a camera supporting base member projecting upright from a rear side of the table, and a folding camera supporting arm member to which the camera head unit is fixed. The folding camera supporting arm member is stretched upward under a service condition and is folded under a non-service condition. The presentation supporting system includes a control circuit having an EEPROM which stores settings of control buttons on a front operation panel and a control panel when a key set button is activated. These settings include selection of auxiliary lighting units for reflecting light or a base light unit for transmitting light, a sound output volume, an iris opening, a focal position, a zoom range, settings of a white balance mode and a display mode. The control circuit reads an operating condition of the key set button immediately after power is supplied, and reproduces the settings stored in the EEPROM under an ON condition of the key set button. Under an OFF condition of the key set button the control circuit sets default values.

Abstract:
A recording apparatus for effecting recording on a recording medium has a recording head for effecting recording on the recording medium, conveying rollers for conveying the recording medium, a first and a second case for covering the recording head and the conveying means, and a mechanism for effecting relative movement of the first case and the second case.
Abstract:
A reflection-type overhead projector having a projection lamp and projection lens-and-mirror system disposed above a base on a gooseneck arm for projecting a transparency placed on the base on a remote screen. The overhead projector has a copying device incorporated therein for making a copy from a reflective original on a secondary original or a transparency, which comprises an image-scanning head movable lengthwise over the reflective original placed on a Fresnel mirror on the base to provide image signals; a mirror attached to the image scanning head for directing light from the projection lamp onto the reflective original just below the image scanning head; and a thermal printing head for thermally printing an image of the reflective original on a secondary original or a transparency according to the image signals.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A support structure which can hold an image reading apparatus in a vertically placed condition is provided. On a bottom portion of an apparatus main body 1 in such a horizontally placed condition that a document table glass 2 is installed nearly horizontally, a storage portion 1c for storing the support structure is provided, and support structures 31, 32, 33 are released from the storage portion and get into around the side of a document cover 6 and a hinge 7, from the bottom portion, and holds the apparatus main body 1 in a vertically placed condition.
