Methods and systems are provided for sharing images over a network. A first user selects an image for sharing and designates an image recipient. Metadata for the first image is transmitted from the first user's terminal to the image recipient's terminal. At least partly in response to receiving the metadata, the image recipient's terminal transmits a request for the first image at a first resolution to the first user's terminal. In response to the request, the first user's terminal transmits the first image at the requested first resolution to the image recipient's terminal.

Documents (14) on a document tray (11) are transferred one by one, and an upper surface height of the documents is lowered to turn off a height detection sensor (31). Then, different kinds of control are performed according to a document scanning mode. In an image-quality-priority scanning mode, a transfer unit (48) suspends transfer of the document (14), the document tray (11) is elevated until the upper surface height reaches a target height that is higher by a predetermined distance after the height detection sensor (31) is turned on, and the transfer unit resumes the transfer of the document. In a speed-priority scanning mode, while the transfer of the document (14) is continued by the transfer unit (48), the document tray (11) is elevated until the document tray reaches the target height.

A file structure comprising plural directories is disclosed, wherein a first directory (PLAYLIST) includes playlist files, a second directory (CLIPINF) includes clip information files and a third directory (STREAM) includes stream files. Each playlist file contains a plurality of playitems. Attribute information is recorded in each playitem, said attribute information including a coding mode. Furthermore, a recording medium comprising the file structure, and a method and an apparatus for recording the same are disclosed.

When image data is transmitted from a digital camera (DSC) to a PD printer apparatus and printed, the PD printer apparatus transmits its Capability to the DSC. The DSC restricts the setting items of a UI screen displayed on the display to functions of the PD printer apparatus in accordance with Capability, and displays the items.
