Abstract:
A conveyor system for exposing an object to an electrical discharge to increase the surface tension of a surface of the object comprises a guide, a first conveyor, an electrode, and a second conveyor. The first conveyor is configured to convey the object toward the guide. The electrode is configured to provide an electrical discharge. The guide and the second conveyor are configured to rotate the object for exposure to the electrical discharge.
Abstract:
Exhaust gas emitted from a diesel engine flows through a ceramic soot filter in which particles contained in the exhaust are deposited and oxidized to regenerate the filter. The filter is regenerated by non-thermal, electric surface creeping discharge on filter surfaces covered with particles. In addition, nitrogen oxides may be reduced by selective catalytic reduction. The system is designed to ensure operation reliability and environmental compatibility.
Abstract:
A device for producing singlet oxygen and having a light source and a transparent medium is described. The transparent medium has a first surface and second surface, the first surface facing the light source and a region which contains a photosensitizer are disposed on the second surface. The transparent medium is completely closed against a surrounding medium.
Abstract:
A device for air cleaning from dust and aerosols based on the use of non-homogeneous electrostatic field creating a flow of charged particles (the so called nullionic windnull) and operating as electrostatic precipitator is proposed. The device comprises a bode 1 inside which corona-forming and precipitation electrodes with opposite polarities are established. Inside the body deflection electrodes are established as well, in front of corona-forming electrodes a reflector for positively charged aeroions effected as electrode and electrically coupled with said corona-forming electrodes being established. The proposed device comprises one or several tapes made of porous-fiber material placed into non-homogeneous electric field.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and an equipment for plasma treatment under the atmospheric pressure for treating an article to be treated comprising: providing a solid dielectric on at least one opposing face of a pair of opposing electrodes under a pressure near the atmospheric pressure; introducing a treatment gas between said a pair of opposing electrodes; generating plasma by applying an electric field between said electrodes; and contacting said plasma with said article to be treated, wherein an used gas is exhausted from the vicinity of treatment section where said plasma and said article to be treated are in contact, and said vicinity of treatment section is maintained under a specified gas atmosphere by a gas atmosphere control mechanism.
Abstract:
A radio wave generator is used to produce activated water or other activated fluids, having extreme acidity or alkalinity. Activated water of low pH can be advantageously marketed and used as a bactericidal agent. Activated water of high pH can advantageously be ingested, and marketed as bottled water. Activated water or other fluids can be used in numerous commercial processes.
Abstract:
An ozone generator comprises an electrode located within a dielectric tube with a ground electrode formed on the outer surface of the tube. The tube and ground electrode are surrounded by a coding jacket to allow the coolant to come into contact with the ground electrode and provide efficient cooling.
Abstract:
A method for forming nanostructures on a workpiece includes the steps of: positioning a counter-electrode and a workpiece electrode arrangement relative to each other, such that, there is a gap between the counter-electrode and the workpiece electrode arrangement; and applying an electrical pulse between the workpiece electrode arrangement and the counter electrode, such that, an electrical discharge in produced in the gap. The electrical discharge forms at least one nanostructure in a first region of a surface of the workpiece electrode arrangement. The electrical pulse has a duration of less than one millisecond. The first region is selectively determined by a shape of the counter-electrode and a relative positioning of the workpiece electrode arrangement and the counter-electrode. The scope of the invention also includes a system for performing this method.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a photoelectrocatalytic purifier and a method for purifying fluid such as air by using the photoelectrocatalytic purifier. The photoelectrocatalytic purifier according to the present invention is characterized in that it comprises a discharge plate having anode property, a discharge section being positioned parallel to the discharge plate and having cathode property, a photocalyst being coated on a discharge surface of the discharge plate, ultraviolet lamps being disposed on a rear of the discharge section, and a power supply and booster for supplying a voltage.
Abstract:
This invention is to a process and system for controlling solids distribution in a gas-solids reactor. Solids distribution is controlled by controlling electrical charges between solid particles flowing between conductive surfaces within a gas-solids reactor. The electrical charges are controlled by conventional means such as by grounding the opposing conductive surfaces, or by applying a voltage to one of the opposing conductive surfaces.
