    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the counting efficiency and reduce the effect of fluctuation of applied voltage, by sealing a specific quantity of nitrogen gas in a GM counter whose extinguishing gas is made of a haloid gas. CONSTITUTION:About 4-40% in volume of nitrogen gas is sealed other than the counter gas and extinguishing gas. In the GM counter of such composition, the more the adding quantity of nitrogen gas, the more is improved the counting efficiency, but on the other hand, each plateau moves to the higher applied voltage side, as well as the declination of the plateau is getting larger, that is, the counting result of the counter has a tendency to get the effect of fluctuation of the applied voltage. The percentage of the adding nitrogen gas may be any value as far as it is between about 4-40%. By adding this quantity, a counter will take advantages of a good haloid type counter such as a long life and a low applied voltage, and moreover, the counting efficiency is improved as well as the effect of fluctuation of applied voltage is well reduced.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect the current of a Geiger Muller counter (GM counter) by a simple structure, by providing a transformer used in both of an oscillation coil and a boosting transformer as a high voltage generation circuit for applying high voltage to the GM counter to convert the frequency thereof to a voltage value. CONSTITUTION:As a high voltage generation circuit for applying high voltage to a GM counter (a), a transformer T1 used in both an oscillation coil and a boosting transformer is provided and high DC voltage (high voltagle) is obtained from the high voltage current generated in a secondary side through diodes D1, D2 and condensers C2, C3. This high voltage is applied to the GM counter (a) through a resistor R2 and a current is flowed into the GM counter (a) from the high voltage terminal thereof. Therefore, the current increases as the dose ratio of radioactive rays allowed to irradiate the GM counter (a) becomes high FFTQ2 guides oscillation frequency for transmitting the current of the GM counter (a) to both terminals of a resistor R4 and this oscillation frequency is converted to voltage VC through a resistor R5 and a condenser C5. By this method, voltage showing the relative value of the current of the GM counter (a) and voltage of a reference voltage oscillation (b) are compared by a comparator (c) to make it possible to detect the current of the GM counter.
