The present invention aims to provide a polyrotaxane composition having excellent storage stability. The present invention relates to a polyrotaxane composition comprising: a polyrotaxane containing a cyclodextrin, a polyethylene glycol which is included in the cavities of the cyclodextrin molecules in a skewered manner, and a capping group that is placed at each end of the polyethylene glycol and prevents dissociation of the cyclodextrin molecules from the polyethylene glycol; and a polyphenol antioxidant.

The present invention aims to provide an industrially advantageous method of producing a pseudopolyrotaxane with a high inclusion ratio. The present invention relates to a method for producing a pseudopolyrotaxane, including: an inclusion step of mixing a polyethylene glycol and a cyclodextrin in an aqueous medium to form an aqueous dispersion of pseudopolyrotaxane that contains pseudopolyrotaxane particles in which the polyethylene glycol is included in the cavities of the cyclodextrin molecules in a skewered manner; and a drying step of drying the aqueous dispersion of pseudopolyrotaxane produced in the inclusion step to obtain the pseudopolyrotaxane. In the drying step, the aqueous dispersion of pseudopolyrotaxane is dried in a thin film state.

The present invention aims to provide a method for producing a refined polyrotaxane which includes an industrially advantageous method of producing a polyrotaxane that has excellent storage stability. The method for producing a refined polyrotaxane includes the step of heat-cleaning a polyrotaxane with a cleaning medium, the polyrotaxane containing cyclodextrin molecules, a polyethylene glycol which is included in the cavities of the cyclodextrin molecules in a skewered manner, and a capping group that is placed at each end of the polyethylene glycol and prevents dissociation of the cyclodextrin molecules from the polyethylene glycol.

A material comprising crosslinked polyrotaxanes which exhibits desired viscoelasticity, particularly stress-strain characteristics with a wide low-stress region, in spite of being free from solvent; and a process for production of the same. The material comprises a first polyrotaxane bearing first cyclic molecules and a second polyrotaxane bearing second cyclic molecules, and the first and second polyrotaxanes are crosslinked via the first and second cyclic molecules. The material is free from solvent and exhibits a stress of 2.0MPa or below at 50% strain.

The present invention provides a spherical powder having properties, such as an excellent strength, toughness, and deformation recovery, and provides a method for producing same. The present invention provides: a spherical powder containing a crosslinked body formed having (A) a polyrotaxane in which both ends of a pseudopolyrotaxane, which are formed by inclusion of the opening of a cyclic molecule by threading therethrough with a linear molecule, are provided with a capping group so that dethreading of the linear molecule is prevented, in particular, a spherical powder having an average particle diameter of 0.5 to 1, 000 µm, preferably 1 to 500 µm, more preferably 1 to 300 µm, and still more preferably 1 to 150 µm; and a method for producing this spherical powder.

The present invention relates to a polyrotaxane-containing composition including: a polyrotaxane that has a cyclic molecule, a linear molecule threading through a cavity of the cyclic molecule in a skewered manner, and capping groups capping both ends of the linear molecule; and an alkyl (meth) acrylate that has a C4-C18 alkyl group, the polyrotaxane having at least one cyclic molecule that has a C4-C18 alkyl group.

The present invention provides a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), in particular a polyurethane-based thermoplastic elastomer (TPU), that has exceptional elongation, strength, and wear resistance, and in particular has exceptional wear resistance. The present invention provides: a thermoplastic elastomer composition containing A) a thermoplastic urethane elastomer composition having A1) at least one polyol selected from the group consisting of polyetherpolyols, polyesterpolyols, and polycarbonate polyols, A2) a diisocyanate, and A3) a chain extender, and B) polyrotaxane formed by arranging blocking groups, at both ends of pseudo-polyrotaxane formed by inclusion of the openings of cyclic molecules in a shape skewered by linear molecules, so that the cyclic molecules are not eliminated; and a thermoplastic elastomer derived from this composition.
