    Abstract: PURPOSE: To purify oily water to meet a prescribed standard by sending the dispersion phase liquid passing a pump means to a hydrocyclone by a difference between a supply pressure smaller than a differential pressure under which the reduction of the droplet sizes of this liquid begins and a suction pressure. CONSTITUTION: The oily water formed in an oil field forming place is sent from a conduit 16 to a region 20 of a first separator 18 where the free oil is separated. The separated oil flows over to a region 22. The oily water in the lower part is sent through a detector 34 to the hydrocyclone 38 by the pump means 36. In such a case, the difference between the suction pressure and supply pressure of the pump means 36 is measured by a testing device 34. The purified water flow rate in a purified water drainage conduit 46 is adjusted by a back pressure control valve 45 in such a manner that the measured difference pressure does not exceed the difference pressure of the time when the substantial reduction of the measured volumetric means size of the droplets of oil of the oily water begins. The oil droplets separated by the hydrocyclone 38 are then recovered into a tank 30. The oily water is thus well purified to the regulated level.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To efficiently wash with less backwash water by providing the upper part of a partition wall for suspending plural tubular filter means a blocking plate for closing part of the openings of the filter means touchably and separably from the partition wall. CONSTITUTION: An upper chamber is provided with a blocking plate mounting means 42 and the blocking plate 32 is made rotatable and axially movable by the means. Then, the blocking plate 32 comes into contact with the partition wall 26 at the time of backwashing. The blocking plate 32 is lifted by the pressure of the filtrate at the time of filtration and the filtrate from all the filter means 28 flows to the upper chamber. A paddle wheel turbine means 34 is fixed atop the blocking plate 32 and an inflow means 44 is disposed in the upper chamber. In the case of washing with a limited amt. of the backwash water, only the filter existing in below the sectorial aperture of the blocking plate 32 is exposed to the high-pressure water and all the filters are washed by the backwash water by one rotation of the blocking plate 32.
