Abstract:
A default-to-park mechanism for a transmission includes an output member, a rotatable plate, a latching mechanism, and a biasing member. The output member is rotatable to park, reverse, neutral, and drive positions. The rotatable plate is coaxial with the output member. The plate and the output member interfere with one another such that the plate is moved in a first direction of rotation by the output member and the output member is moved in a second direction of rotation by the plate. The plate is releasably held by the latching mechanism to prevent rotation in the second direction of rotation when the output member is in the reverse, neutral, and drive positions. The biasing member biases the plate to rotate in the second direction of rotation to return the output member to the park position when the plate is released by the latching mechanism.

During use, the ferromagnetic core, the electromagnetic windings, and the other electromagnetic transmission components of the transmitter are entirely contained and sealed within a rugged outer housing.

A multiple point switching array employs a plurality of keys for effecting a variable capacitance coupling between an oscillator and oscillation-responsive semiconductor switching circuits. The output of the semiconductor switches are encoded onto a plurality of sense buses, and connected therefrom to output digit lines via a plurality of sense amplifiers. A strobe circuit is provided to simultaneously enable the sense amplifiers after their switching thresholds have been exceeded, and circuitry is employed to inhibit all outputs when more than one key is actuated at any one time.

A vane pump includes a housing that provides a bore in fluid communication with an inlet passageway and an outlet passageway, and a rotary assembly that is arranged within and configured to rotate relative to the bore. The rotary assembly includes a rotor that is mounted to a shaft and has multiple slots. The rotor has a first and second faces that engage the housing. A vane is received in each of the slots, each vane has first and second surfaces that extend a length in a longitudinal direction from a first end portion to a second end portion. The first end portion is received in its respective slots. The rotary assembly includes a recess on at least one of the first face, the second face, the first surface of the first portion, and the second surface of the first portion.

A thermometer is coupled to at least one of the first and second thermoelements to measure the temperature of said cold junction independent of electronics used for conditioning a signal of said thermocouple. The thermoelements may be thick film elements coupled to a substrate. The thermometer may also be coupled to the substrate.

A multiple frequency ping transmitter which can be carried by a pig which is used in an underwater pipeline. The ping transmitter produces a ping chord which includes a plurality of different tone frequencies which are simultaneously transmitted in the ping chord. Procedures are also provided wherein the multiple frequency ping transmitter is used in a system and method for located a pig which is stuck in the underwater pipeline or for determining the relative velocity of a moving pig.
