    Abstract: A system receives image data generated by a camera of a device during an augmented reality (AR) session showing at least an existing object in physical space. The existing object has a first dimension along an axis of a coordinate system. The system determines a multi-dimensional model corresponding to a type of the existing object and having a second dimension along the axis smaller than the first dimension and determines a user selection of properties associated with the type. The system configures the multi-dimensional model to include the properties and retain the second dimension. The system causes the device to present, during the AR session using the coordinate system, the multi-dimensional model in an overlay. The AR session shows (i) at least a portion of the existing object and (ii) the multi-dimensional model over a remaining portion of the existing object configured according to the properties and the second dimension.

    Abstract: Described herein are a system and methods for efficiently using depth and image information for a space to generate a 3D representation of that space. In some embodiments, an indication of one or more points is received with respect to image information, which is then mapped to corresponding points within depth information. A boundary may then be calculated to be associated with each of the points based on the depth information at, and surrounding, each point. Each of the boundaries are extended outward until junctions are identified as bounding the boundaries in a direction. The system may determine whether the process is complete or not based on whether any of the calculated boundaries are currently unlimited in extent in any direction. Once the system determines that each of the boundaries is limited in extent, a 3D representation of the space may be generated based on the identified junctions and/or boundaries.

    Abstract: A haptic switch can be used to control one or more display screens. In an example embodiment, the haptic switch takes the form of a flooring sample—such as a sample piece or swatch of a flooring material, for example, ceramic tile, wood, or carpet—that is affixed or otherwise mechanically coupled to an electronic sensor, such as a proximity sensor, a touch sensor, or a pressure sensor. The haptic switch is communicatively coupled to a machine, and the machine stores or is otherwise able to access a database that correlates the haptic switch or its included flooring sample to corresponding texture map data that depicts the flooring sample. The haptic switch is thus usable to select its corresponding texture map data and cause the machine to use the selected texture map data in generating video content and displaying the generated video content on one or more display screens.
