PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicone rubber composition yielding a silicone rubber whose compressive set within a high-temperature realm, above all a high-temperature realm of 200°C or above, is sufficiently inhibited.SOLUTION: The provided thermosetting silicone rubber composition comprises: (A) 100 parts.mass of a polyorganosiloxane having an average degree of polymerization of 500-20,000 and possessing at least two intramolecular alkenyl groups; (B) 5-100 parts.mass of a filler; (C) an effective dosage of an organic peroxide; and (D) 0.06-15 parts.mass of a hydrous cerium oxide and/or hydrous zirconium oxide exhibiting one absorption band within 3300-3500 cmand at least two absorption bands within 1300-1700 cmduring an infrared absorption spectral measurement.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet curable silicone resin composition which suppresses shrinkage on curing, is hardly discolored even at a high temperature, and can provides a cured product having a small fluctuation range of an elastic coefficient due to a temperature change.SOLUTION: An ultraviolet curable silicone resin composition comprises (A) a linear polyorganosiloxane represented by following formula, (B) a branched polyorganosiloxane represented by a specific formula, and (C) a photoinitiator. A sealant for an image display device comprises the composition. An image display device uses the sealant for an image display device to seal an image display part and a protection part.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of making and/or using a metal nitride that differs from those currently available and has fewer defects.SOLUTION: A method of forming a crystalline composition comprising gallium nitride comprises: providing a nucleation center in a first region 108 of a chamber, a gallium nitride source material 124 in a second region 106 of the chamber, and a solvent 130 capable of solvating gallium nitride in the chamber, where the solvent comprises a nitrogen-containing superheated fluid and an acidic mineralizer with the concentration of the acidic mineralizer greater than about 0.5 mole percent relative to the solvent; providing a getter composition to the chamber; pressurizing the chamber to a pressure greater than 5 kilobar; generating a temperature distribution with a temperature gradient between the first region 108 and the second region 106; and growing a crystalline composition 132 comprising gallium nitride on the nucleation center. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a room temperature curable polyorganosiloxane composition which has a low viscosity and fluidity, ensures a low modulus, high elongation, high strength and good adhesion of a cured product thereof, and does not contaminate the surrounding part.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for preparing a room temperature curable polyorganosiloxane composition comprising: 100 parts of (A) a polyorganosiloxane having on average two or more silanol groups and/or ketoxymato groups; 5-100 parts of (B) a polyorganosiloxane having a silanol group or a ketoxymato group; 20-200 parts of (C) calcium carbonate; 0.5-25 parts of (D) a silane compound having a hydrolyzable group; and 0.01-10 parts of (E) a curing catalyst; wherein the component (D) contains 0.05-5.0 parts of (D1) a silane having a mercapto group. The component (D1) is added to a mixture of the component (A), the component (B) and the component (C) before blending the mixture with the other component (D).
