Abstract:
The method comprising: applying, by a transmitter, a Forward Error Correction to an information block to be sent to a receiver and modulating said information block prior to its transmission, wherein the transmitter has knowledge of a channel frequency response seen by the receiver and the applying and modulating are performed at a variable-rate, at the transmitter side, by: transforming the information block into a number of smaller packets denoted as codeblocks fitting the input sizes accepted by the Forward Error Correction; selecting, a set of modulation and coding schemes to be independently applied to each of the codeblocks; including, information about the selected set of modulation and coding schemes within part of physical resources devoted to user data by reserving specific subcarriers and OFDM symbols; and mapping, said information within physical resources devoted to user data and not reserved for said selected set of modulation and coding schemes, first in order of ascending OFDM symbols and then of ascending subcarriers.

Abstract:
The distribution network comprising a plurality of caching nodes and wherein the web content had been statically identified as an uncacheable content and originated on an origin-server and wherein the method establishes a time to live, TTL, period value to said uncacheable content based on users requests and responds to said users requests by sending to at least to one CDN user said uncacheable content within said TTL period value. Each one of said plurality of caching nodes in said distribution network including a content caching manager and a pseudo-dynamic content TTL predictor and performing the following steps: a) contacting each one of said plurality of nodes with a centralized repository, in order to download the configuration file of a plurality of said CDN users. b) identifying, said content caching manager of each caching node, the uncacheable content as a pseudo-dynamic content; c) predicting, a pseudo-dynamic content TTL predictor of said caching node, said TTL period value in which the uncacheable content will not be modified; and d) caching, each one of said plurality of nodes, the uncacheable content during said predicted TTL period value. The system of the invention is arranged to implement the method of the invention.
Abstract:
Method, system and computer programs for performing virtualization of a radio access technology over OFDMA wireless networks,The method comprises splitting OFDMA time-frequency resources in each subframe of an OFDMA frame structure; reserving, in the downlink, resource elements in the split OFDMA time-frequency resources reserved for virtualization of a radio access technology for insertion of downlink reference signals to perform downlink channel estimation by user terminals with a specified separation between signals in the time and frequency domains; inserting, in the uplink, training or pilot signals along the split OFDMA time-frequency resources reserved for virtualization of said radio access technology by mapping said signals over time-frequency resources scheduled for a particular user according to a multiple access scheme supported by said radio access technology; and mapping, in said downlink and uplink, complex baseband symbols corresponding to information from said radio access technology into said split OFDMA time-frequency resources reserved for virtualization of said radio access technology.
Abstract:
A method to optimize almost blank subframe usage in a wireless network including generating, an interfering base station, in order to minimize interference caused to a serving base station, an almost blank subframe pattern and sending the latter to the serving base station. The serving base station generating a set of preferred almost blank subframes, from said received almost blank subframe pattern, that their knows will be of use for providing a wireless connectivity to a user terminal, and sending the preferred almost blank subframes ordered by a priority of usage to said interfering base station. And the interfering base station, using, in the case of requiring the use of additional subframes for serving its own user terminals, the almost blank subframes indicated as low priority in said received set of preferred almost blank subframes from the serving base station.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented method and system to manage user profiles regarding user preferences towards a content. In the computer-implemented method of the invention said content is previously rated by a group of users via computing devices, and it is characterised in that it comprises generating adaptive catalogues for a user by means of Item Response Theory models applied to said content and generating a user profile for said user by at least presenting items of said adaptive catalogues to said user, through a user computing device, and analysing scores given by said user to said items via said user computing device. The system of the invention is arranged to implement the method of the invention.
Abstract:
In the method of the invention an outgoing payment service is requested by an application running on a smart device and it comprises the development of specific software residing in said smart device and the mobile network to control and detect if said outgoing payment service has the corresponding authorization and can be executed or if it is part of a fraud.
Abstract:
A method for cell reselection and cell handover in a wireless communication systemThe method comprises: a user equipment measuring its proximity to one or more cells, or radio access nodes, by detecting the signal emission power thereof, and recognizing some cells as distinctive cells which radio section can be switched off when no user equipment is camping in it; determining that at least one of said cells is candidate for cell reselection or handover as a function of said signal emission power, and, if the cell is a distinctive cell, directly determining it as a candidate cell even if its signal emission power is not detected; and performing the cell reselection or handover between the user equipment and the candidate cell.
