The current line includes contacts(A,B) for supplying power to the magnetron(33) while both ends of a conduction part of the door are electrically connected. When the door is opened, the conduction part and the contacts(A,B) are electrically disconnected so that the magnetron(33) cannot be powered on.

Thereby, the microwave oven isolates the circuit element of heating type by a radiation plate mounted on the PCB to prevent flame of the heat of the circuit element from being transmitted to components.

A cooling fan(30) and a fan motor(36) are inclined in the upper part of the rear panel to cool the magnetron, the transformer and the inverter circuit board. The control panel and a main PCB(Printed Circuit Board)(9) are cooled with air passing through the transformer and the inverter circuit board. Air from the magnetron is moved in the cooking chamber through the air guide, and discharged to a vent.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An overcurrent protection device is provided to protect a microwave oven from an overcurrent by installing an overcurrent protection device in the body of the microwave oven, to easily repair a trouble, and to isolate power supply without displacement of a power cord from a power resource. CONSTITUTION: A microwave oven comprises: an outlet opening installed in a body(1) and for inserting and separating a plug of a power cord(24); many power lead-in/isolating units consisting of two circuit breakers(62,64), and for leading in a power voltage or isolating an overcurrent; and a primary microswitch(22) opened and closed by interlocking with opening and closure of a door, and supplying the power voltage fed from the power lead-in/isolating unit to a high voltage transformer(HVT). If the primary microswitch is closed while the door of the microwave oven is open, an overcurrent flows in a circuit. Then, the circuit breakers are turned off automatically. Thereby, the circuit is protected from an overcurrent. As the circuit breakers for isolating an overcurrent are attached on the microwave oven body, the overcurrent protection device is returned to a normal state after removal of the factor of an overcurrent. Thus, time and cost for repair are saved.
