Abstract:
There is provided a novel architecture for transmitting multimedia data with different QoSs in a mobile communication system. In a protocol structure according to the present invention, an RLP layer receives data with different QoSs and dividing the data into datagrams according to the QoSs, a MUX layer multiplexes the datagrams received from the RLP layer and outputs multiplexed TU data, and a QCCH receives the multiplexed TU data and outputs TU blocks with the QoSs by puncturing and repeating information added according to the QoSs for the multiplexed TU data.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method for transmitting and receiving a PDU(Packet Data Unit) in a wireless packet data communication system is provided to add a sequence number to the PDU and transmit and receive the PDU. CONSTITUTION: A MAC(Media Access Control) layer receives an SDU(Service Data Unit) from an LAC(Link Access Control) layer(700). The MAC layer judges whether the received SDU is a signaling message(710). If the SDU is the signaling message, the MAC layer adds a header for the signaling message to the received SDU and composes a PDU(730). The MAC layer adds a sequence number in a header of the PDU(740). The MAC layer transmits the PDU to a physical layer(750).

이동 통신시스템에서 라디오링크프로토콜(RLP)에 따라 전송되는 새로운 포맷의 정보 프레임 및 이 정보 프레임을 송수신하는 방법 및 장치가 개시되어 있다. 상기 정보 프레임은 각각 주어진 길이를 가지는 복수의 연속적인 다중화 프레임들로 구성되고, 상기 다중화 프레임들의 각각은 헤더와 이후의 라디오링크프로토콜(RLP)프레임으로 구성되며, 상기 RLP프레임은 전송할 데이터를 포함한다. 상기 정보 프레임의 상기 다중화 프레임들중 적어도 하나는 복수의 서브 다중화 프레임들로 구성되고, 각 서브 다중화 프레임은 RLP 서비스 인식자 필드와 전송해야할 데이터의 길이를 나타내는 길이 표시 필드를 포함하는 헤더와 이후의 상기 RLP와 관련된 데이터 블록으로 구성된다.

A reverse data rate determining method in a mobile communication system for high data rate transmission such as an HDR system, wherein an AN (Access Network) within a cell calculates a total load of a reverse link by measuring a total energy of a reverse link from ATs (Access Terminals) within the cell. The AN calculates the share of each AT in the total reverse link load. If the load share of an AT is greater than a threshold predetermined individually for the AT, the AN determines that the AT should reduce its data rate.

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling a reverse link in a mobile communication system are provided to control a data transmission rate of the reverse link efficiently and reach full utilization of the reverse link within a speedy time. CONSTITUTION: RRIs(Reverse Rate Limit) transmitted through the air from mobile stations is received at a base station through a wireless reception unit(301). The wireless reception unit(301) changes the received signal into a baseband signal and then outputs the changed signal to a control signal detecting unit(303) and a reverse link volume measuring unit(306). The control signal detecting unit(303) detects a control signal among the changed signal and then outputs the detected signal to a calculating unit(309). The reverse link volume measuring unit(306) detects the volume of a reverse link, i.e, system load.

PURPOSE: An initial transmission and re-transmission method in a mobile communication system is provided to dynamically control a data block for initial transmission for smooth data block transmission upon re-transmission, and to give a multimedia service and allow data re-transmission according to synchronous or asynchronous methods. CONSTITUTION: A base station analyzes a rate of data to be forward transmitted(300) and decides a data rate(302). The base station checks a state of a Tx buffer(304), and configures an EP(Encoder Packet)(306). The base station checks whether the current data rate supports the EP(308). If not, the base station segments the current EP into a smaller EP by one stage to meet the data rate for reconfiguration(310). And if the current data rate supports the EP in the step 308, the base station checks whether the current EP is 3840-bit(312). If so, the base station checks whether to be Rate Set 1(314). If so, the base station configures the EP with the Rate Set 1(316). In case of Rate Set 2, the base station configures the EP with the Rate Set 2(318). After configuring the EP, the base station configures one PLP(Packet Level protocol) with two EPs(320), and transmits the PLP(328). If the current EP is not 3840-bit in the step 312, the base station checks whether to be 3072-bit(322). If so, the base station configures a PLP through the steps 314 to 320(322). If the current EP is 2304-bit, the base station configures a PLP through the steps 314 to 320(324). If the current packet does not correspond to the step 312, 322 or 324, the base station configures one PLP with one EP(326) and transmits the configured PLP(328).

PURPOSE: A method for transmitting multimedia data in a mobile communication system is provided to dynamically offer transmission data according to the characteristic of a multimedia service and perform an efficient retransmission. CONSTITUTION: The rate of data transmitted to a terminal is determined. In case that the priorities of the transmitting data differ each other, a high quality matching value is set in data with a high priority. The transmitting data are punched or repeated according to the set quality matching value within the size of the data provided at the determined data rate, the transmitting data are configured, and the configured data are transmitted. The terminal to which the data are transmitted is selected by a round robin type.

PURPOSE: A data service apparatus and method in a radio system is provided to quickly transmit data and offer a high throughput when transmitting the data by having a protocol structure for providing an effective data service and multimedia service. CONSTITUTION: Data block processors(105a-105n) process received application source data as data with a packet unit. RLPs(Radio Link Protocols)(110a-110n) segment the data inputted from the data block processors(105a-105n) according to data rate determined in a physical layer and output the segmented data. A multiplexing unit(115) composes the data inputted from the RLPs(110a-110n) by a TU(Transport Unit), combines the composed data, and maps the combined data to an MQC(Multiple Quality Control) according to a transmission priority. MQC channels perform the combination, coding, puncturing, and repetition of error correction bits of the data of the TU inputted from the multiplexing unit(115), and perform a QoS control matching. An MQC channel serial concatenation(145) combines output data of the MQC channels in serial, and outputs the combined data. A channel interleaver(150) and a modem(155) interleave and modulate the output of the MQC channel serial concatenation(145) and output a signal for being transmitted in radio environment.

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for transmitting data having different qualities in mobile communication system are disclosed to provide data services having at least two different qualities of service in a mobile communication system. CONSTITUTION: A radio link protocol layer(10) receives data information having a plurality of different qualities of service and divides and outputs a size of the data information according to each quality of service. A multiplexing layer(20) multiplexes the data information divided by the radio link protocol layer(10) and outputs the multiplexed data information as a transmission unit. Quality control channels(30) output transmission unit blocks determined by quality of service. A multiplexing quality controller(40-1) maps the transmission unit blocks from the quality control channels(30) according to the quality of service. A serial concatenation(50) concatenates TUs having different quality of service. A channel interleaver(60) interleaves to transmit the concatenated TUs from the serial concatenation(50).
