본 발명은 다중 홉 릴레이 방식을 사용하는 광대역 무선 접속 통신 시스템에서 레인징 메시지 중계 장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다. 구체적으로는 레인징 메시지 중계 장치('중계국'이라고도 한다)가 단말기로부터 수신한 레인징 요청 메시지를 일정한 방법으로 처리한 중계 레인징 요청 메시지를 서빙기지국으로 요청하며 상기 서빙기지국은 수신한 상기 중계 레인징 요청 메시지를 처리하여 중계 레인징 응답 메시지를 중계국으로 전송하고 이를 수신한 중계국이 자신이 처리한 정보와 서빙기지국으로부터 수신한 중계 레인징 응답 메시지를 조합한 레인징 응답 메세지를 생성하여 단말로 전송하는 레인징 메시지 중계 장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다. 중계국, 레인징 요청 메시지, 레인징 응답 메시지, 서빙 기지국, 다중 홉 릴레이

An opportunistic packet scheduling apparatus and method in consideration of the re-use of radio resources and QoS(Quality of Service) in a broadband wireless communication system using multi-hop relay are provided to install and operate a system effectively by increasing the number of accommodated users while guaranteeing QoS in a single BS(Base Station). A current radio resource efficiency calculating unit(300) collects channel information reported by a user terminal and a repeater by each user terminal path, initializes the size of resource allocation, and determines whether to re-use resources of each path by comparing the sizes of resource allocations of each user terminal path. A QoS parameter calculating unit(306) calculates a parameter for satisfying a current radio resource efficiency and QoS requirements of each user terminal path reflecting whether to re-use resources. A scheduling priority index calculating unit(304) calculates a scheduling priority index of each user terminal by using the current radio resource efficiency and the QoS parameter.

Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for selecting a path in a broadband wireless communication system are provided to select a path by using a transmission rate with respect to a base station-terminal link and a relay-terminal link and a queue state of a base station and a repeater. A base station selects one of modes for path selection(600). The base station receives a report on an SNR(Signal-to-Noise Ratio) value obtained by measuring a radio channel state between the base station and a terminal and between a relay station and the terminal from the terminal(602). If the base station needs to receive the SNR value between the base station and the relay station(604), it receives the same from the relay station(606). If the SNR between the base station and the relay station is not required, the base station calculates a data transmission rate between the base station and the terminal and between the relay station and the terminal by using the reported SNRs between the base station and the terminal and between the relay station and the terminal(610). The base station determines whether to transmit data through a direct path from the base station or by way of the relay station(612). The base station transmits information about the determined data transmission path to the relay station and the terminal(614).

An apparatus and a method for selecting a relay mode in a broadband wireless communication system using multi-hop relay are provided to improve a production yield and an outage performance of a system by using a proper relay mode according to a terminal distribution or a channel state. A base station requests channel state information with relay stations from a terminal(501), and checks whether a signal is received from the terminal(503). The base station checks channel state information between the relay stations and the terminal included in a reception signal(505). The base station estimates an interference strength and a signal strength by using the channel state information(507). The base station estimates CINRs(Carrier to Interference and Noise Ratios) of a simple relay mode and a cooperative relay mode(509), and determines a relay mode to provide a relay service by using the CINRs(511). The base station transmits resource allocation information including the relay mode to the relay stations and the terminal(513), and transmits data to the relay stations or the terminal according to the resource allocation information(515).

A device for allocating resources to relay stations in a relay-type wireless communication system and a method therefore are provided to determine resource reuse patterns by using interference information measured in each relay station, thereby enabling efficient resource operation even when the relay stations are irregularly disposed. N relay stations measure mutual interference by exchanging beacon signals with other relay stations within a cell, and feed back the measured interference information to base stations. The base stations allocate resources for the N relay stations, so that the N relay stations reuse the resources by using the interference information fed back from each of the N relay stations. When at least one of the relay stations transmits the beacon signals by using uplink sounding channels, the rest of the relay stations receive the beacon signals.

A device for supplying a relay service in a multi-hop relay type broadband wireless access communication system and a method are provided to offer synchronized synchronous channels and services to a terminal and relay stations by using consecutive two frames, thereby easily performing a cell searching process for synchronization and handover in accordance with mobility of the terminal. A subframe for terminal link with a base station and a subframe for terminal link with a relay station are configured during the first section(701) of a subframe(700) in the ith frame. A subframe for 1-hop relay station link with a base station, a subframe for odd-numbered hop relay station link with an even-numbered hop relay station, and a subframe for terminal link with an end hop relay station are configured during the second section(703) of the subframe(700) of the ith frame. A subframe for terminal link with the base station and a subframe for terminal link with the relay station are configured during the first section(411) of a subframe(410) of the (i+1)th frame. An apparatus and a method for generating a synchronization channel for a RS in a wireless communication system are provided to generate a synchronization channel for the RS by using a sequence value of a synchronization channel and a sequence value of a common mask transmitted from a BS(Base Station) to each MS, thereby lowering complexity in generating the synchronization channel by enabling a downlink synchronization channel transmitted from the BS to the each MS to be separated from the synchronization channel for the RS. A method for generating a synchronization channel for a RS(Relay Station) in a wireless communication system using a multi-hop relay method comprises the following steps of: checking a sequence of a synchronization channel for an MS(Mobile Station) and a predetermined length of a preset sequence(a common mask)(701,703); and generating a sequence of a synchronization channel for the RS by performing XOR operation for the sequence of the synchronization channel for the MS and the predetermined length of the sequence(705).

An apparatus and a method for retransmission request in a wireless communication system using a relay are provided to improve the reliability of data received by a receiver, by enabling a relay station to relay data without error to the receiver. According to a method for retransmission request of a relay station(210) in a wireless communication system using a relay, data received from a transmitter are transmitted to a receiver. If a retransmission request message is received from a base station(200), corresponding data are retransmitted to the receiver. In case of forward transmission, the transmitter means the base station and the receiver means a terminal(220). In case of reverse transmission, the transmitter means the terminal and the receiver means the base station.
