    Abstract: The invention relates to thermoplastic moulding materials containing the following: A) 5 to 96 wt. % of a polyester; B) 1 to 30 wt. % of a nitrogen compound, melamine cyanurate being excluded; C) 0.1 to 30 wt. % of a phosphinic acid salt of formula (I) or a disphosphinic acid salt of formula (II) or polymers thereof or mixtures thereof, the substituents having the following meanings: R , R being hydrogen, a linear or branched alkyl radical with 1 to 6 C-atoms, phenyl, on the condition that at least one radical R or R is hydrogen; R being a linear or branched C1-C10 alkylene, arylene, alkylarylene or arylalkylene radical; M being an alkaline earth metal, an alkaline metal, Al, Zn, Fe, Bor; m being a whole number from 1 to 3; n being a whole number from 1 to 3; x being 1 or 2; D) being 0 to 5 wt. % of at least one ester or amide of saturated or unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acids with 10 to 40 C-atoms with aliphatic saturated alcohols or amines with 2 to 40 C-atoms; and E) 0 to 60 wt. % other additives, the sum of the weight percentages of the components A) to E) being 100 %.

    Abstract: In a continuous process for the production of polyalkylene arylates (A) from aromatic dicarboxylic acids or esters etc. and aliphatic diols, lubricants (B) and nucleating agents (C) are added when the melt reaches at least 80% of the required viscosity number, after which the melt is optionally further condensed and then granulated. A continuous process for the production of polyalkylene arylates (A) containing lubricants (B) and nucleating agents (C) by (trans)esterification of aromatic dicarboxylic acids or their esters etc. with a molar excess of aliphatic dihydroxy compound, followed by polycondensation, in which the additives (B) and (C) are added to the polymer melt when it reaches at least 80% of the required viscosity number, after which the melt is optionally further condensed and then discharged, cooled and granulated.
