    Abstract: PURPOSE:To transmit the picture of high quality at a limited transmitting capacity by assigning a transmitting mode by an area division to which the visual property of the eye of a human. CONSTITUTION:A block distortion operating circuit 16 compares the picture element data of a restored block outputted from an A/D converter 10 and the picture element data of the restored block outputted from an interpolation circuit 14 and operates a block distortion Dc every picture element block. A block distortion operating circuit 20 compares the picture element data of a present scope and the picture element data of a previous scope from a frame memory 18 every corresponding block and calculate a block distortion Dp. The distribution of the all picture element blocks of one scope portion specified by the transmitting errors Dc and Dp is analyzed into three partitions based on six parameters decided by a time base fluctuation, a visual property of the eye of a human and so on, and three transmitting modes are assigned and transmitted to the three partitions. Thus, the respective transmitting modes can be assigned properly and an efficient picture information transmission can be executed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain still reproduction in a condition that a magnetic tape is stopped by moving a magnetic head in a track width direction in the condition that the magnetic tape is stopped, fetching a necessary signal into a memory means and forming a signal for still picture display with a storing signal. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic tape is stopped in a part, which is desired to be reproduced, and a control voltage is impressed to a bimorph 28. Then, a magnetic head 26 is moved in the track width direction and a track A is traced by one time of the revolution of a revolving drum 22. A reproducing signal is deshuffled and temporarily stored in a frame memory 48. The magnetic head 26 is moved to a position to trace a track B and the signal of the track B is stored in the frame memory 48. When this operation is repeated concerning a track C or tracks C-F, the video signal for one field or for one frame is stored in the frame memory 48. Thus, by repeatedly executing a reading from the frame memory 48, the still picture display can be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain satisfactory dubbing by means of a miniature device in which the rotary radius of a rotary head is minimized without converting a time base by executing reproduction with a prescribed period shorter than one field at every field period and recording a reproduced signal with the same prescribed period as that at the time of reproduction at every field period. CONSTITUTION:The rotary heads are arranged so that they record (reproduce) video signals for one field while they respectively rotate 300 deg.. At the time of reproduction, the outputs of the rotary heads are alternately outputted in a change over switch 11 at every field period. A reproduced video signal processing circuit 12 processes the video signals which are outputted from the switch 11 and which have been time base-compressed, and outputs them as dubbing signals. A time base expanding circuit 13 time base-expands the video signals which the processing circuit 12 outputs, and outputs them to a terminal 14. At the time of dubbing, the dubbing signals from the processing circuit 12 are inputted from a terminal 21 to a switch 22, and are supplied to the heads through a recording video signal processing circuit 23 and a switch 25. For using the heads only for recording, the switch 22 is connected to terminals B or C.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily recognize a photographed picture and a recorded picture in a picture recording device which can record both a still picture and a moving picture by selectively displaying the still picture or the moving picture which is being photographed at present at the time of recording the still picture. CONSTITUTION:At the time of a still picture recording mode, a switch 30 is connected to the side of a contact point (b) under the control of a system controller 40, and the content of a field memory 34 is repeatedly read. Thus, same field pictures (namely, the still pictures) are recorded to a magnetic tape 60. For displaying the recorded picture while the still picture is recorded, in instruction is given from a display instruction switch 9 to the system controller 40 to connect a switch 26 to the side of the contact point (b) and to display the still picture recorded in the magnetic tape 60 at present on a display device 28. For executing framing for recording the subsequent still picture or photographing the moving picture, the switch 9 instructs to the system controller 40 to connect the switch 26 to the side of the contact point (a). Thus, a object image which is being photographed by an image pickup circuit 10 at present is displayed on the display device 28.

Thereby, even at the time of reproducing the recording medium recorded with other device, the track pitch can be securely discriminated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To record a color video signal of wide bands with high density by recording a first signal inverted synchronously with the rise of an FM modulated wave and a second signal inverted synchronously with the fall of the FM modu lated wave on the same recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A composite NTSC color television signal is FM-modulated so as to have a modulated frequency twice as long as convensional frequencies by an FM modulator 14 and the signal inverted synchronously with the rise of the FM modulated wave and the signal inverted synchronously with the fall are formed by 1/2 frequency dividers 16a, 16b and these signals go to the video signals of two channels. The sum signal of the L channel and the R channel of a stereophonic audio signal is superimposed on the one channel of the video signals and a difference signal and a time base correcting reference signal in a reproducing system are respectively superimposed on the other. The recording signals of two channels obtained in this manner are simultaneous ly recorded on the recordding medium. Thereby, the color video signal of the wide band can be recorded with high density.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform preferable tracking control, by performing the tracking control based on a phase difference between a pilot signal reproduced from a first area and the pilot signal reproduced from a second area at time of reproduction. CONSTITUTION:The pilot signal of single frequency is recorded on the first area of a track so that the phases of adjacent racks are shifted by the same quantity in the reverse direction of the phase of a control targeted track out of a large number of tracks. And in the second area of the track, the pilot signal is recorded so that no pilot signals having different phases can be recorded at the adjacent positions of both adjacent tracks. In such way, the reference phase of the pilot signal can be obtained from a reproduced signal by using the pilot signal reproduced from the second area, thereby, it is possible to perform the preferable tracking control in which no limitation exists in the band area of a recording signal, and no influence due to the dispersion of the mechanical accuracy of a device is generated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain preferable tracking control, by recording a pilot signal obtained from the deviation of the recording timing of an adjacent track with an information signal, and performing the tracking control based on the phase of the pilot signal reproduced at the time of reproducing the information signal. CONSTITUTION:Assuming the deviation of the recording timing of the adjacent track as 1/Fsec, the pilot signal whose frequency is FX(n+1/m) [where, (n) is integer, and (m) is integer >=3] is recorded with the information signal, and the tracking control is performed based on the phase of the pilot signal reproduced at the time of reproducing the information signal. In such way, the pilot signal between the adjacent tracks is recorded automatically as the signal with a phase of 2pi/m, and the tracking control can be performed by utilizing the change of the phase of a reproduced pilot signal corresponding to a tracking error at the time of reproduction.
