    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a foamed thermal insulant excellent in the thermal insulating properties with a reduced amt. of a chlorofluorocarbon blowing agent used by mixing a specific premix component with a specific isocyanate component and foaming the resulting mixture. CONSTITUTION:A premix component comprising a polyether (e.g. an arom. amine-based polyether), a foam stabilizer (e.g. F-335, a product of Shin-Etu Chemical Co.), a catalyst (e.g. Kaolizer No.1, a product of Kao), water, and a chlorofluorocarbon blowing agent (e.g. chlorofluorocarbon-11) is mixed with an isocyanate component comprising a hydrophobic powdered activated carbon surface-treated with a silicone oil (e.g. KF-99, a product of Shin-Etu Chemical Co.) and an org. polyisocyanate (e.g. crude MDI), and the resulting mixture is foamed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the subject material containing an NCO component compounded with a specific adsorbent, effective in decreasing the consumption of fluorocarbon by the use of CO2 generating in reaction as a foaming gas and improving the thermal conductivity by adsorption and removal of CO2. CONSTITUTION:A polymer film is formed on a zeolite surface with a polysiloxane and the film is made to react with a silane compound containing active silyl group to effect the hydrophobic surface-treatment of zeolite. An NCO component compounded with the hydrophobic zeolite as an adsorbent is mixed with a premix component produced by mixing a polyether, a foam stabilizer, a catalyst, water and a fluorocarbon foaming agent and the obtained mixture is foamed to obtain the objective material. The hydrophobic treatment is carried out e.g. by adding a polysiloxane to a zeolite, stirring and mixing under heating, adding a silane compound containing an active silyl group to the mixture and stirring and mixing the composition under heating.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a foamed heat-insulation material while reducing the amount of a fluorocarbon blowing agent used by mixing under agitation a specified premix component containing a fluorocarbon blowing agent with a isocyanate component comprising hydrophobic zeolite and an organic polyisocyanate. CONSTITUTION:A foamed heat-insulation material is produced by mixing a premix component comprising a polyether, a foam stabilizer, a catalyst, water and a fluorocarbon blowing agent under agitation with an isocyanate component comprising zeolite rendered hydrophobic by surface treatment with a silicone. According to the above process, the amount of the fluorocarbon blowing agent used can be reduced by effectively utilizing carbon dioxide produced by the reaction of water with the organic polyisocyanate as a blowing gas, and the carbon dioxide remaining in cells can be removed by the gradual adsorption by the hydrophobic zeolite. Therefore, the thermal conductivity of the gas in cells can be decreased to improve the thermal conductivity of the obtained foamed heat-insulation material, so that a foamed heat-insulation material having excellent heat insulating performances can be provided. Therefore, it can contribute to the solution of a fluorocarbon pollution problem and also to the energy saving.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the dispersion of the stock solution of foamed heat insulating material even when a space, formed by an outer box and an inner box, is narrow by a method wherein a heat insulating box body is formed of an outer box, an inner box, a partitioning plate, attached to a groove formed on the inner box and dividing the same box into two chambers or more, and foamed heat insulating material, filled into a space between the inner and outer boxes through the pouring ports of the same which are provided on the groove of the inner box. CONSTITUTION:A heat insulating box body 1 is constituted of an outer box 2, an inner box 3, provided with grooves 7 for inserting a partitioning plate 6 dividing the inner box 3 into two chambers, and foamed heat insulating material 8. When the stock solution of the foamed heat insulating material 8 is poured, the flange part of the front surface of the box body is positioned at the lower part of the box and the stock solution is poured through pouring ports 9 provided on the grooves 7. The poured stock solution is distributed into two directions and flows into the ceiling surface part as well as the bottom surface part of the heat insulating boxy body through the flange part. According to this method, a space between the inner box and the outer box may be filled with foam, obtained by foaming the uniformly distributed stock solution, without any trouble. Thereafter, the partitioning plate 6 is mounted and the heat insulating box body 1 may be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an expanded heat insulator excellent in adhesion, heat insulating properties and foam strength by blending a benzylic ether type fluid phenol-based resin composition with a specified polyether and expanding the resultant mixture using a specified expanding agent. CONSTITUTION:With (A) a benzylic type fluid phenol-based resin (B) 20-40wt.% polyether prepared by using a non amine-based active hydrogen compound (e.g., trimethylolpropane or glycerin) as an initiator is blended and (C) a catalyst, (D) a foam stabilizer, (E) an organic polyisocyanate and (F) an expanding agent consisting of dichlorotrifluoroethane are added thereto. The resultant mixture is expanded to produce the objective expanded heat insulator excellent in adhesion and insulating properties, capable of ready monolithic expansion together with a face material and resistant to foam shrinkage at low outside-air temperatures in high productivity without environmental pollutions.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To recover the filtrating function of a filter, by converting dusts having clogged a filter to a conductor by impregnating the dusts with electrolytic solutions, charging the filter with electricity, and generating a strong magnetic field by means of a superconductor coil to dislodge the dusts. CONSTITUTION:A filter apparatus are composed of a filter 8 comprising nonconductors having pores, a device 14 for supplying electrolytic liquids, superconductor coils 11, 12 disposed close to the filter 8, a pair of electrodes 9, 10 provided at opposite ends of the filter 8, and a D.C. power source 13 connected to said electrodes, wherein dusts having clogged the filter 8 are impregnated with electrolytic solutions so that said dusts are converted to conductors and the filter 8 is electrified, and, further, strong magnetic fields are generated by means of the superconductor coils 11, 12 to produce a Lorentz force on the dusts themselves so that the dusts having attached to the pores of the filter 8 are dislodged, causing the filter to effect its filtrating functions again.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To enhance heat insulating performance of a heat insulating wall by filling the space between a film and a plate with a carbon dioxide gas absorbent previously wetted with a fleon solvent and adsorbing and removing carbon dioxide gas contained in hard urethane foam in a short time thereby enhancing thermal conductivity. CONSTITUTION: A heat insulating wall 1 comprises an outer plate 2, an inner plate 3, and hard urethane foam 4 filling the space between them. A carbon dioxide gas absorbent 5 is used while being filled previously in a ventilating bag 6 of nonwoven fabric. A gas permeable film 7 is made of polyethylene. The heat insulating wall is made by fixing the carbon dioxide gas absorbent 5 wetted with a fleon solvent 9, i.e., dibromotetrafluoroethane, to the shelf molding part 8 of the inner plate 3 by means of a tape, or the like, and applying the gas permeable film 7 in spots to the inner plate 3 by means of a both-sided tape, or the like. Subsequently, the hard urethane foam 4 is injected between the film 7 and the plate 2 thus forming the heat insulating wall.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To effect an easy adsorption and removal of carbon dioxide gas generated and remained in rigid urethane foam by a method wherein carbon dioxide gas adsorbing agent arranged at the surface of an inner plate of a thermal insulation wall opposing against an outer plate is covered by a gas permeating film. CONSTITUTION: Rigid urethane foam is filled between an outer plate 2 and an inner plate 3 of a thermal insulating wall 1. To a shelf molded section 8 of the inner plate 3 is fixed and arranged carbon dioxide gas adsorbing agent 5 filled in a non-woven bag 6 by a tape or the like. A gas permeating film 7 is adhered to the inner plate 3 so as to cover the inner plate 3 and the carbon dioxide adsorbing agent 5. With such an arrangement as above, carbon dioxide gas contained in the rigid urethane foam is dispersed and moved toward a thickness direction of the thermal insulating wall, permeates the gas permeating film, resulting in that carbon dioxide gas can be easily adsorbed and removed with the carbon dioxide gas adsorbing agent within a short period of time.
