Abstract: A pawl assembly is adapted for being mounted in an aperture formed in a door panel for releasably retaining the door against a corresponding frame. The pawl assembly includes as portions thereof a housing which is received within the door panel aperture. The housing is formed having its distal end being conical in shape which allows a mounting nut to be mounted onto the pawl assembly when received in the door panel aperture. A drive member is included which is received within an axial bore formed in the housing and is adapted for rotational movement by an operator. A pawl is secured to the drive member in only one orientation of the pawl in relation to the drive member. The drive member rotation is limited by a protruding member which extends from the housing and into the drive member. The drive member is also included with a flange which is sized at least to completely cover the top of housing which provides a seal for restricting the passage of water, dust and other matter. A biasing member is also included which provides a frictional resistance upon the drive member on its rotational movement and also operates as a detent for releasably retaining the pawl assembly in its fully unlatched and fully latched positions.

Abstract: Sliding type locking device for securing doors of a cabinet or enclosures for transmission of communications and switching equipment, consisting of at least one movable locking bar operatively connected to a lever assembly of spring-operated rotation which locks and unlocks the door of the cabinet by simultaneously engaging and disengaging of the movable locking bar with a slide lock armature secured to the door frame of the cabinet. The lever assembly can be secured in the locked or closed position by a cam-action block which can be disengaged by applying a force against the pin which is integrated with the housing of the slide type locking device. A grounding pad can be provided as an option to prevent damage and hazards caused by static discharges.

An electrical grounding pad may be optionally provided to prevent damage or injury from static discharge.

Abstract: A pawl assembly is mounted in an aperture formed in a door panel 100 for releasably retaining the door against a corresponding frame 110. The pawl assembly includes a housing 14 with a conical end to accept a mounting nut 52. A rotatable drive member 12 is in an axial housing bore and a paw 18 is secured thereto to engage the frame in a secured position. The paw is receivable onto the drive member in only one orientation relative thereto. The drive member rotation is limited by a protruding member 44 which extends from the housing and into a drive member slot 32. The drive member also has a flange 26 which is sized to completely cover the top of the housing to provide a seal against water, dust and other matter. A biasing member 16 provides a frictional resistance upon drive member rotation and operates as a detent for releasably retaining the paw assembly in its fully unlatched and fully latched positions.

Abstract: A remote compression-type latching mechanism is provided which comprises an actuator assembly, an elongate rod connected to the actuator assembly for lateral movement in response to actuation of the actuator assembly, a bracket, and a pawl disposed within the bracket and connected to a remote end of the rod for sliding and pivoting movement in response to movement of the rod. The movement of the pawl is guided and facilitated by slots within the bracket, which also provide positive over-center latching in a preferred embodiment. Upon pivoting to the latched position, the pawl contacts a frame to draw the closure member up against the frame under compression.
