Abstract:
An apparatus for receiving or transferring, vertically transporting and delivering articles such as eggs. The apparatus provides a feed conveyor (2) for presenting successive articles (5) in oriented position and an endless, continuously movable and substantially vertically arranged carrier conveyor (9) for receiving the articles successively presented by the feed conveyor. The carrier conveyor (9) is equipped for retaining and supporting the articles (5) during the vertical transport by way of a fixed guideway (11), extending in the direction of transport, over which the article (5) can move in sliding fashion and which supports the article on one side, as well as a support member (10) pivotally mounted on the carrier conveyor (9), which member supports the article (5) on the opposite side and keeps it pressed against the guideway (11).
Abstract:
An apparatus for sorting and removing undesirable objects from a feed belt conveyor which passes an inspection station, while downstream of the inspection station there is arranged a "trapdoor" and subsequently a discharge conveyor. The undesirable objects can be discharged through the trapdoor, which undesirable objects can be defined as such upstream of the trapdoor by human or automatic detection. The location of the objects in question can for instance be defined by a "tracking" memory (shift register) and remains known at least as far as the trapdoor. In an apparatus more particularly adapted for processing vulnerable objects, such as eggs, the feed belt conveyor and the discharge belt conveyor are substantially aligned, there being arranged at least adjacent the trapdoor disposed between the belts, a turnstile, a chain having carriers (FIG. 2) or the like.
Abstract:
A carriage assembly for transporting two eggs in side-by-side relationship from one station to another such as from a weighing station in an egg grader to a packing station. A pair of oppositely disposed egg engaging members are pivotally mounted on fixed shafts positioned in a platform. The engaging members are curved to engage the egg upon closing of the members, the closing movement being controlled by means of a cam in engagement with the upper horizontal portion of each engaging member. Each of the cams in engagement with the horizontal portion of the engaging members, is mounted on a shaft disposed perpendicular to that of the fixed shafts. A spring member is mounted on the fixed shaft and urges the egg engaging member toward the open position. An actuating bar is fixed to and extends from the mounting shaft in order to rotate the cams into and out of engagement with the horizontally disposed upper portion of the egg engaging members thereby controlling their closing and opening movement.
Abstract:
An egg conveyor assembly comprises a first conveyor (1) extending in a first conveyor direction (X) on a first height level, a second conveyor (2) extending in a second conveyor direction (Y) perpendicular to the first height level. A transfer device (3) adapted to transfer eggs (50) from the first conveyor (1) to the second conveyor (2) comprises an array of egg retainers (6). The egg retainers (6) of the transfer device (3) comprise pockets having a receiving opening at an upper end thereof to receive the eggs (50) from above from the first conveyor (1), and are adapted to release the eggs at a lower end to drop the eggs (50) in egg retainers (21) of the second conveyor (2). The transfer device (3) is movable in the first conveyor direction (X) and in the second conveyor direction (Y) in a plane on a height level between the first height level and second height level.
Abstract:
An egg printing system comprises a printer (30, 31, 32) and an endless egg conveyor (1) that is adapted to move the eggs (50) past the printer. The conveyor including an endless element running around a set of rotational wheels and a drive unit defining a conveying direction of the conveyor. The egg conveyor includes a lane of egg retaining pockets (10) coupled to the endless element, said lane of retaining pockets in use moving in the conveying direction. Each retaining pocket has a central axis and an upper receiving opening to receive an egg with a longitudinal axis of the egg generally aligned with said central axis of the pocket. The pocket has a side opening at a side thereof facing in the conveying direction and/or in the opposite direction, leaving a side surface area exposed of the egg that is received in the pocket. The retaining pockets remain in an upright position in every position in the lane. The printer is positioned at one of the head sections of the conveyor with a printing head facing the corresponding lane being directed to said side opening in the pocket to allow printing on said side surface area of the egg.
Abstract:
A part-processing machine having, in series, consecutive parts on a belt (2) moving same along a main conveying line. Selectively identified non-compliant parts are removed from the conveying line, into a transfer device (1) by pickup tools (8) supported on the periphery of a rotating drum (6) mounted transversely to the conveying line and arranged to rotate about itself so as to pass over the belt, enabling the non-compliant parts to be picked up by the pickup tools and released once the parts have been transported away from the conveying line. The pickup tools have pneumatic gripping heads, more particularly for example suction cups. The pneumatic gripping heads are depressurized relative to the surrounding air by a low-pressure chamber provided inside the drum, to which each head is connected by a tube inside a tool support arm.
Abstract:
Described is a depalletiser for trays of eggs, comprising a head movable in space and comprising a plurality of elements for forking a tray of eggs and a unit for controlling means for moving the head designed to control the movement of the head in space. More specifically, the depalletiser comprises image acquisition means which are facing the tray of eggs and designed to acquire at least an image of a predetermined side of the tray to be depalletised. The control unit is designed to process the image for the purpose of identifying the position in space of the empty areas of the predetermined side of the tray for insertion of the forking elements of the head.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a control unit for an egg conveyor belt, comprising a conveyor belt drive mechanically coupled with the conveyor belt and designed to drive the egg conveyor belt at one of at least two different speeds and an image recording unit to record an image section of the conveyor belt. An evaluation unit is coupled by means of signal technology to the image recording unit. A counting unit is designed to count all eggs detected in one image recording of the image recording unit on the image segment of the conveyor belt as stocking density, which is coupled by means of signal technology to an evaluation unit and to the conveyor belt drive, whereby the speed of the conveyor belt drive in dependence of the stocking density is controlled.
Abstract:
This invention relates to gripper head for unstacking a stack of trays, each tray provided with a relief of pockets with edge portions and loaded with eggs, the gripper head provided with a holder frame,—having included therein a matrix of suction heads connected with an air suction system, the suction heads, during pickup, transfer and deposition of one tray, being placed on the eggs and engaging them with suction,—having connected therewith at least two oppositely arranged grippers for engaging, simultaneously with the eggs, the tray at corresponding sides during pickup, transfer and deposition of the tray, and—having at least a mast piece which extends perpendicularly with respect to the matrix and is connected with at least an arm for displacing the gripper head between a pickup location and a delivery location, wherein the gripper head furthermore comprises a carrier unit which is connected through at least one spacer with the holder frame in a carrying manner, movably in at least three degrees of freedom. Several of such tiers can be provided.
