Abstract:
A compressor includes a front housing, a cylinder block, a cylinder head, a torque transmission mechanism, a reciprocating mechanism, and torque determination means. The torque transmission mechanism includes a pulley, a plate-shaped elastic member, a hub, a drive shaft, and a rotor. The torque determination means includes a first marker affixed to the pulley, a second marker affixed to the hub a first sensor affixed to the front housing which generates a first timing signal when the first marker is positioned within substantially the same vertical plane as the first sensor, and a second sensor affixed to the front housing which generates a second timing signal when the second marker is positioned within substantially the same vertical plane as the second sensor. Moreover, there is a time differential between the generation of the first and second timing signals corresponding to the angular offsets, and the torque of the compressor is determinable from the time differential.
Abstract:
Disclosure is made of a precision hydraulic energy delivery system that directly couples the pump to a primary mover (motor) and a related motor control. The system provides flow control of a hydraulically driven machine without the use of downstream devices by employing motion control algorithms in the motor control. Control features are electronically integrated into the hydraulic system by using control algorithms and subroutines specifically developed for the prime mover servo control system coupled to the pump.
Abstract:
A displacement control apparatus controls the displacement of a variable displacement controller. A drive shaft of the compressor is driven by an engine. Torque acting on the drive shaft represents the displacement. The apparatus includes a control valve, an air conditioner controller and a compressor controller. The control valve changes the compressor displacement. The air conditioner controller produces a torque setting signal, which represents a target torque, to the compressor controller. The compressor controller changes the valve opening based on the torque setting signal such that the actual load torque matches the target torque value. Accordingly, the compressor is controlled according to the torque. The air conditioner controller may send the torque setting signal to an engine controller, which eliminates the need for load torque maps.

The present invention provides a rotating apparatus. The rotating apparatus includes a rotor and a motor generator. The rotor includes a belt holder on its outer circumferential surface. The belt holder transmits power between an engine and the rotor. The motor generator is accommodated in and operably connected to the rotor. The motor generator selectively functions as at least one of a motor and a generator. The motor generator is arranged inside the belt holder such that the motor generator is surrounded by the belt holder.

Abstract:
A pump displacement control for a variable displacement pump includes a torque control valve disposed between a variable torque limiter and a force applying device disposed in axial alignment within a common bore. A sleeve and a valve spool are movable relative to each other to establish a first condition communicating discharge pressure into an actuator chamber to move a swashplate toward a minimum displacement position against the bias of a spring or a second condition communicating the actuating chamber with an exhaust passage to allow the spring to move the swashplate toward its maximum displacement position. A torque control piston disposed between opposing springs resiliently bias the valve spool in a direction to establish the second condition when control fluid is directed into a control chamber. Pump discharge pressure communicated into a pressure chamber exerts a force against the valve spool proportional to the discharge pressure so that the valve spool moves in a second direction to establish the first condition when the control force exceeds the biasing force exerted by the torque limiter.
Abstract:
An eddy current coupling with an electrically controllable field current is used to rotatably connect a drive motor to an oil well pumping mechanism where the eddy current drive speed is controlled to a reference speed using a speed feedback control system and operation can be limited in torque output by a torque feedback control system. In a first alternative embodiment, the eddy current coupling output speed is controlled by a stroke modulation unit using a first selected speed for the upward pumping stroke and a second selected speed for the downward pumping stroke. In a second alternative embodiment a controller is used to select torque or speed control for the upward or downward .pumping stroke. An eddy current coupling output stall condition is sensed by comparing the eddy current drive speed to a preselected stall speed and when the eddy current coupling output speed dips below the stall speed limit, the eddy current coupling coil electrical power is disconnected thereby terminating the electromagnetic coupling of the eddy current inductor and pole member to disconnect the drive motor from the oil well pumping mechanism.
Abstract:
A control system for a variable displacement pump or pumps driven by a vehicular engine for supplying pressurized fluid to implement actuators via implement control valves. The engine has several output conditions each with a different output torque characteristic. The control system includes a servomechanism comprising a servoactuator section coupled to the pump for varying the per cycle displacement thereof, a servovalve section for operating the servoactuator section by fluid pressure from a fixed displacement pump, and a control section for actuating the servovalve section. The servomechanism control section is fluid operated from a torque control valve, which delivers a controlled degree of fluid pressure from the fixed displacement pump to the control section in order to correspondingly vary the torque requirement of the variable displacement pump. The torque control valve is solenoid operated from a controller in association with a sensor capable of sensing each output condition in which the engine operates, in such a way that the torque requirement of the pump is controlled to suit the sensed output condition of the engine. The servomechanism control section is further under the control of a drain sensor effective to control the pump displacement in accordance with the flow rate of the fluid being drained from the implement control valves.
