    Abstract: A method for harmonizing colors of an original image is disclosed. The method comprises: computing a saliency map of the original image, for each of a plurality of color harmonic schemes: determining a temporary harmonized image from the original image according to the current color harmonic scheme, computing a saliency map of the temporary harmonized image, comparing the saliency map of the original image and the saliency map of the temporary harmonized image, in order to obtain a saliency comparison result, computing a corrected color comparison result from colors of the original image, colors of the current color harmonic scheme and the saliency comparison result, selecting, as the harmonized image, the temporary harmonized image obtained with the color harmonic scheme minimizing the corrected color comparison result.

    Abstract: A method for selecting a color palette includes receiving a feature from an image of an object and a reference color chart, calculating a transform to correct a color in the imaged reference color chart, correcting a color in the feature using the transform, and selecting a color palette based on the corrected feature color. The reference color chart includes reference colors, and the transform corrects the color in the imaged reference color chart to substantially equal a corresponding reference color. An apparatus for selecting a color palette is also described.

    Abstract: A color sphere has a plurality of organized color cells. The color cells are gradually lighter from a bottom to a top. A first color cell is selected from the color sphere. Radial, horizontal peripheral, vertical peripheral directions are identified relative to the first color cell. The color cells of the sphere are organized so that they only match in the radial direction, horizontal peripheral direction and in the vertical peripheral direction. A second color cell is selected only when the second color cell is in selected direction.
