PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program utilization system making a program prepared for a device in a specific use environment, usable as a program for a device in another use environment, and a program utilization method and a program. SOLUTION: In regard to an existing macro for controlling one or more first devices 2a, device specification information for specifying each device in the first devices in the macro is converted into category specification information for specifying the category of each device based on device information on each device, and the converted existing macro is recorded. A macro available for controlling one or more second devices 2b is selected out of recorded existing macros based on device information on a control device 1b and the first and second devices. In regard to the selected macro, category specification information in the macro is converted into device specification information for specifying each device in the second devices belonging to the category specified by the category specification information based on the device information on the control device and the first and second devices. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general-purpose remote control method having an improved user interface which simplifies an operation of general-purpose remote control and a remote operation of household equipments in a strict meaning. SOLUTION: A readable medium has a command for displaying informations to a plurality of users of a hand-held equipment 1150, and steps executed by the command include the followings. That is, the steps comprise a step by which each user defines a list of their favorite channels and a step which receives an input for identifying the users of the hand-held equipment 1150, responds to it and displays the list corresponding to the favorite channels to the users. The users interact with the list by executing the steps, and the readable medium is provided to the hand-held equipment for transmitting command codes to the household equipments for the purpose of tuning the household equipments 1120, 1122 and 1124 to a channel expressed in the list of the favorite channels. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method whereby home automation appliances installed in a building can be operated by a portable remote control and a relay. SOLUTION: The method governs the operation of a home automation installation comprising the portable remote control 2, the relay 3 and the home automation appliances 4, 7, 10, 11, and in which at least some home automation appliances can receive, by a wireless channel, control commands sent by the portable remote control. The method is such that control commands can be sent selectively according to a scenario to the home automation appliances over the same communication bearer by the relay when the latter receives a specific command sent by the portable remote control to the relay. A method and a system of controlling application devices simultaneously. The application devices can be a Web tablet, a set-top box, a VCR, a TV, and PDA, a lamp, a coffee machine, a radio, a telephone, a background wall, a DVD player or an electronic information panel. The method includes four steps controlled by a server: retrieving first documents ( 501 ) from a first set of application devices; retrieving identification ( 502 ) of a user; generating ( 505 ) second documents, each comprising an instruction, on the basis of at least a part of the retrieved identification of the user and at least a part of the first documents; simultaneously sending ( 506 ) at least one of the second documents to each device of a second set of the application devices; and performing ( 507 ) for a given device of the second set one instruction from at least one of the second documents received in the given device. The step of retrieving identification by the server includes the steps of retrieving user profile ( 503 ) information based on the user identification, and retrieving context profile information ( 504 ) relating to present surroundings of the user. 본 발명은 다수 기기의 자동 상호 연동 제어 방법에 관한 것으로서, 더욱 상세하게는 하나의 중앙제어장치를 통하여, 다수의 전자기기의 기능을 각각 제어하지 않고도, 다수의 전자기기 각각의 기능을 조합하여 설정한 동작모드에 따라 용이하게 제어할 수 있는, 즉 중앙제어장치에서 설정한 동작모드 한번의 명령으로 다수의 기기들의 모든 동작을 상호 연동하여 제어할 수 있는 다수 기기의 자동 상호 연동 제어 방법에 관한 것이다. 상기한 목적을 달성하기 위한 본 발명은 다수의 전자기기와 이를 제어하기 위한 중앙제어장치를 사용하여 이루어지는 다수 기기의 자동 상호 연동 제어 방법에 있어서, 각 전자기기가 수행할 수 있는 기능을 조합하여 특정 순서로 수행하도록 하는 동작모드를 설정하여 중앙제어장치에 저장하는 동작모드 설정단계와, 설정된 다수의 동작모드 중에서 실행할 동작모드를 선택하는 동작모드 선택단계와, 선택된 동작모드에 따라 각 전자기기를 제어하는 제어단계로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 한다.
