A device for supporting and moving a load within an area may include a motive construct configured to support the load and move the load to a ground location within the area; a lift mechanism coupled to the motive construct, the lift mechanism being configured to effect movement of the motive construct to a height relative to the ground location; and a remote controller operatively coupled to the device via at least one of a cable connection and a wireless connection, the remote controller being configured to steer the motive construct and/or to control the lift mechanism. The device may further include at least one sensor to detect a characteristic of the load. The device may further include a braking system.
Abstract:
A handheld electronic apparatus, a remote control method, a home appliance system and a home appliance apparatus are disclosed. The handheld electronic apparatus comprises a network module, an orientation sensor, a touch display and a processor. The network module receives a broadcast packet, which comprises a home appliance orientation and a controllable function of the home appliance apparatus and is outputted from the home appliance apparatus. The orientation sensor provides the remote control orientation of the handheld electronic apparatus. The processor relates the controllable function to a touch gesture of the touch display, and determines whether the home appliance apparatus is a controlled apparatus according to the home appliance orientation and the remote control orientation. When the home appliance apparatus is the controlled apparatus, and the touch display receives the touch gesture, the remote control home appliance apparatus executes the controllable function.
Abstract:
A remote control signal receiver includes a plurality of signal reception units. Each signal reception unit includes a light reception window arranged in a housing of an electronic device and a light reception element arranged in the housing facing toward the light reception window. The light reception elements of the signal reception units are mounted on a circuit board. A transmission barrier prevents infrared noise entering the housing through the light reception window of one of the signal reception units from being transmitted to the light reception element of another one of the signal reception units.
Abstract:
A remote controller is arranged for selecting a light source among a plurality of light sources. The remote controller has an omnidirectional transmitter and is arranged to instruct, by means of the omnidirectional transmitter, the light sources to transmit a directional signal comprising a code, which is unique for each light source. Further, the remote controller has a directional signal receiver, and is arranged to receive the directional signals from the light sources, and signal comparison circuitry connected with the directional signal receiver. The remote controller is arranged to select one of the light sources on basis of the received directional signals. Furthermore, the remote controller comprises a transmission indicator, which is arranged to generate an indication signal, indicative of a successful omnidirectional transmission, and it is arranged to initiate the selection of one of the light sources by means of the indication signal.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for selecting at least one of a plurality of controllable devices (121-123), wherein each of the controllable devices (121-123) is adapted to transmit a distinguishable signal. The method comprising the steps of receiving (301) the signals from the plurality of controllable devices by means of a plurality of receiver modules comprised in a control device (110), wherein each receiver module separately detects a contribution of the signals; determining (302), using a correlation between the different signal contributions, a width and an angle of incidence for each of the signals; comparing (303-304) the width and the angle of incidence for each of the signals with a set of predetermined criteria; and selecting (305) at least one of the plurality of controllable devices best matching the set of predetermined criteria.
Abstract:
A method in which a control device controls at least one of a plurality of terminal devices is provided. The method includes transmitting a search request for requesting information on a location of each of a plurality of terminal devices, and information on a direction of each of the plurality of terminal devices based on a direction in which the control device is directed, receiving a response corresponding to the transmitted search request, determining at least one of the plurality of terminal devices that are controllable from among the plurality of terminal devices based on the received response, and controlling the determined at least one of the plurality of terminal devices that are controllable.
Abstract:
A surveying appliance for surveying targets has a targeting unit and a remote control unit for prompting changes in the orientation of the targeting unit, equipped with measurement functionality for determining a three-dimensional orientation of the remote control unit or for determining movements by the remote control unit. The surveying appliance also has an evaluation and control unit. The extent or speed of the changes in the orientation of the targeting unit can be scaled to corresponding changes in an orientation or speed of change of orientation of the remote control unit such that at least two targeting modes having different levels of transmission ratio are provided. The surveying appliance can be used with corresponding handheld, moving remote control units, computer program products for providing, controlling and performing a targeting functionality for the surveying appliance and methods for tracking and surveying targets using the surveying appliance.
Abstract:
A method for interacting with a graphical user interface (GUI) of a television operating in a step mode in which movement of a cursor among menu items displayed on the GUI is performed stepwise in accordance with a manipulation of a direction key of the remote controller, the method including receiving, by the television, from a remote controller a signal corresponding to spatial movement of the remote controller detected by the remote controller that instructs the television to switch from (i) the step mode to (ii) a position mode of the GUI in which the movement of the cursor among the menu items is performed in accordance with the spatial movement of the remote controller and switching from the step mode of the GUI to the position mode of the GUI based on the signal.
Abstract:
While an example terminal device is being held with its long sides extending horizontally, when a left-right direction is inputted by using a right analog stick, a first virtual camera is directed to a left-right direction in a virtual space. On the other hand, while the terminal device is being held with its long side extending vertically, when an apparent left-right direction, that is, an up-down direction in the state where the terminal device is held with its long sides extending horizontally, is inputted by using a right analog stick, the first virtual camera is directed to the left-right direction in the virtual space.
Abstract:
A remote control unit generates a first beam which a user points at one of a plurality of information appliances to select that appliance. After selecting the desired appliance, the user then actuates a button on a control keypad on the remote control unit to cause the unit to generate a second, modulated beam. The remote control unit modulates the second beam in accordance with a desired functionality of the information appliance to control the appliance accordingly.
