    Abstract: A saw blade (10) includes a circular core (21) having a plurality of cutters (12) disposed along a periphery thereof, and a central bore (14) configured to receive an arbor of a rotating power tool. A plurality of gullets (16) is located in spaced relation between the cutters (12), extending radially inward from the periphery. Each of the gullets (16) includes a neck portion (18) defined by side walls (22) extending radially inward and fairing divergently from one another into an arcuate (20) base. The arcuate base (20) extends along concave arcs (28) to a linear base portion (30) disposed at a radially innermost portion thereof, and which intersects a radius (AA) of the saw blade (10).

    Abstract: An arc fault circuit breaker (10) conducting an electric current to a protected load is presented. The circuit breaker (10) has a first (mechanical) compartment (24) and a second (electrical) compartment (62). A bimetal resistor (50) is disposed within the first compartment (24) and conducts the current therethrough. The bimetal resistor (50) has a stud (56) extending into the second compartment (62). A single sense line (60) is electrically connected to the bimetal resistor (50) and routed into the second compartment (62). The sense line (60) and said stud (56) conduct a voltage signal indicative of arcing of the current. A circuit board (84) is disposed within the second compartment (62) and is connected to the sense line (60) and stud (56) within the second compartment (62) to process the voltage signal. The circuit board (84) has a first conductive path (104) electrically connected to the stud (56), and a second conductive path (106) electrically connected to the sense line (60). The first and second conductive paths (104, 106) run substantially parallel and proximate to each other such that electromagnetic interference of the voltage signal is substantially reduced.

    Abstract: An electronic test circuit (128) for the self-testing of fault detection devices such as GFCI's, AFCI's and RCD's that enhances the safety of such devices by automatically testing the function of all components of these detection components without the need for manual intervention. This self-test device (128) tests the functioning of the primary circuit breaker (32, 33) and detects failure modes such as welded contacts in the circuit breaker (32, 33). By using a secondary, "one-shot" circuit breaker (66, 67), power may be safely and automatically removed from a malfunctioning fault detection device, rendering it safe.

    Abstract: Electrical load controls are provided which include an electrical switch assembly and a fault protection device within a common housing. The switch assembly includes an actuator, and is responsive to actuation of the actuator to switch ON or OFF electricity to the load. The protection device automatically responds to a fault condition by overriding the switch assembly by automatically blocking electrical connection between phase input and output terminals and neutral input and output terminals of the load control. The actuator includes a single external interface element. In one embodiment, actuation of the actuator switches ON or OFF electricity via control of the fault protection device, and in another embodiment, movement of the interface away from the housing exposes within the housing an internal user interface for the fault protection device.

    Abstract: Resettable circuit interrupting devices, such as GFCI devices, that include reverse wiring protection, and optionally an independent trip portions and/or a reset lockout portion are provided. The reverse wiring protection operates at both the line and load sides of the device so that in the event line side wiring to the device is improperly connected to the load side, fault protection for the device remains. The trip portion operates independently of a circuit interrupting portion used to break the electrical continuity in one or more conductive paths in the device. The reset lockout portion prevents the reestablishing of electrical continuity in open conductive paths if the circuit interrupting portion is non-operational, if an open neutral condition exists or if the device is reverse wired. Methods for ensuring a reset lockout state before shipment are provided.
