Abstract: A display device and a method for displaying a broadcasting signal are provided to display a predetermined image unless a viewing rate of a received program corresponds to a user-specific viewable rate, thereby automatically displaying programs and contents appropriate to a viewable rate of a user. A display device comprises a display unit(20), a receiving unit(10) for receiving a broadcasting signal including a program having a viewing rate and extracting the view rating of the program, an image processor(60) for performing an image process operation on the received program, and a controller(70) for comparing the viewing rate of the received program with a user-specific viewable rate.
