Abstract:
An optical reader which reads image information on an original document by moving to the original document includes an illumination unit having at least one light source arranged on a substrate and illuminating the original document, a plurality of mirrors reflecting reflection light from the original document, a focusing lens focusing the reflection light from the original document reflected by the mirrors, and a photoelectric conversion element arranged in a focusing position of the focusing lens, a normal direction of an emission surface of the light source and a normal direction of a light-receiving surface of the photoelectric conversion element are the same direction, an original document reading position is set near an end portion of the optical reader in the normal direction.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image reading apparatus downsizing an integrated scanning optical system unit and also downsizing the entire apparatus. SOLUTION: When reading image information of a document by moving, in a sub-scanning direction, an integrated scanning optical system unit integrally housing therein: a plurality of mirrors for reflecting light flux from the document illuminated with light flux of a light source means; an image forming optical system for image-forming the light flux reflected on the plurality of mirrors; and a reading means in which a plurality of reading pixels are disposed in a main scanning direction, light flux is made incident at 2° or more on at least one mirror among the plurality of mirrors, and within a sub scanning cross section, reflection planes of the plurality of mirrors are disposed within a space at a document reading position side rather than a light incidence plane of the image forming optical system. A reflection plane of the mirror disposed optically most closely to the light incidence plane of the image forming optical system is disposed in the most distant position, in the normal direction, from an original platen in comparison with the reflection planes of the other mirrors. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device provided with a configuration of appropriating a luminous quantity balance between a light reflected in an auxiliary reflection mirror and a direct light from a light source so as to eliminate shade in the case of using the auxiliary reflection mirror. SOLUTION: In the lighting device provided with the light source 2 for illuminating an object of illumination O and a reflection member 4 located at a position opposed to the light source 2 and directing part of illumination light from the light source 2 to the object of illumination O, a light-blocking member 9 (9') is placed between the light source 2 and the object of illumination O (between the reflection member 4 and the object of illumination O), and the light-blocking members 9, 9' are characterized in to block the illumination light from the light source 2 and the illumination light from the reflection member 4 at a prescribed ratio. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader capable of accelerating image reading processing and reducing the cost of a device used in image signal processing or the like. SOLUTION: This image reader has a plurality of sensor IC chips 2 provided with a built-in a plurality of photodetectors and configured so as to output an image signal corresponding to received light quantity with serial analog signals when the plurality of photodetectors receive light from an object to be read, wherein the plurality of sensor IC chips 2 are arranged in a line shape. The number of the plurality of sensor IC chips 2 is defined as natural number multiple as large as three, the plurality of sensor IC chips 2 are divided into blocks B1 to B3 of natural number multiple as large as three, and the image signal is outputted to each of the blocks B1 to B3.
