Abstract: A method for manufacturing an inlet frame (54) of a gas turbine engine (10), the method comprising:
depositing a layer of additive material on a bed of an additive manufacturing machine; and
selectively directing energy from an energy source onto the layer of additive material to fuse a portion of the additive material and form the inlet frame comprising:
a forward annular body (102);
a rear annular body (104) spaced apart from the forward annular body (102) to define an inlet passageway (106);
an annular heating plenum (84) defined by the forward annular body (102); and
a fluid supply conduit (138) defining a hot fluid passageway, the hot fluid passageway providing fluid communication between the annular heating plenum (84) and a hot air source (150) for providing a flow of heated fluid to the annular heating plenum (84).-

Abstract: A turbine engine comprises a frame (102) defining a central aperture (104), a shaft (106) extending in a fore to aft direction through the central aperture, a bearing assembly (114) rotationally supporting the shaft and a spring assembly (150, 160) comprising a first and second set of spring fingers (148, 168) where the second set of spring fingers (168) has an inner ring (144, 164) circumscribing the bearing assembly, and an outer ring (146, 166) mounted to the frame. A set of circumferentially arranged spring fingers (168) having differing stiffness extends between the inner ring and the outer ring. A damper (182) circumscribes the inner ring (164) and separates the inner ring from the frame. A sump assembly (100) for a turbine engine comprises a frame (102), at least one inner race (120), at least one rolling element (132) , at least one outer race (116), and a spring assembly (150, 160) comprising an inner ring (144, 164) circumscribing the inner race, an outer ring (146, 166) mounted to the frame,and a damper. A method for carrying a varying load through a damper assembly comprises introducing flexibility to a load path (R), alternating a load between a damper flexible support (150) and a bearing flexible support (160), and directing at least a portion of the load (R) through a damper (182) when a gap (196) within a bearing assembly (114) becomes closed.
