    Abstract: A hand vacuum cleaner has two nested cyclonic stages. Various designs for the dirt collection chamber of the second cyclonic stage and the design of multiple second stage cyclone inlets, which may use directing members, are provided. A length of the second stage cyclone chamber may be shorter than a length of the first stage cyclone chamber. A screen may be positioned laterally outwardly from the second stage cyclone to define a passage positioned between an inner side of the screen and the outer wall of the second stage cyclone wherein the screen may extend axially at least about 70% of a length of the second stage cyclone chamber. Different designs for emptying first and second stage dirt collect ion chambers are also provided.

    Abstract: A humidifier for a fan coil is provided. The fan coil has an air flow path extending from a return air inlet port to a treated air outlet port with a heat exchange unit positioned in the air flow path. The heat exchange unit is in thermal communication with a heat source. The humidifier includes: a) an upstream temperature sensor provided in the air flow path upstream of the heat exchanger; b) a downstream temperature sensor provided in the air flow path downstream of the heat exchanger; c) a humidification unit in flow communication with the air flow path whereby, when the humidification unit is actuated, water is provided to air in the air flow path; and, d) a controller operably connected to the humidification unit, wherein in operation the controller receives an upstream signal from the upstream temperature sensor and a downstream signal from the downstream temperature sensor.

Also disclosed is a hand vacuum with an air treatment member and a dirty air inlet comprising an inlet passage that extends longitudinally between an inlet end and an outlet end and has a longitudinal passage axis, the outlet end of the inlet passage communicates with the air treatment member air inlet.
