Abstract:
PURPOSE: A composition containing Artemisia princeps or Artemisia iwayomogi extract is provided to promote PPAR-delta and to prevent and relieve dementia or Parkinson's disease. CONSTITUTION: A composition for improving muscle metabolism and memory contains 1-80 weight% of Artemisia princeps extract. The composition controls an enzyme expression which promotes intramuscular fat and glycosylation. The composition also prevents and relieves dementia or Parkinson's disease. A method for preparing the extract of Artemisia princeps or Artemisia iwayomogi comprises: a step of adding water or organic solvent to Artemisia princeps or Artemisia iwayomogi and stirring at 70-80 degrees Celsius for 3 hours twice; a step of filtering using Wahtman No.1 filter; and a step of freeze-drying to obtain solid powder. The organic solvent is ethanol, methanol, butanol, ether, ethyl acetate, and chloroform.

본 발명은 CIDE-C(cell death-inducing DFF45-like effector C)의 발현을 억제하는 물질을 유효성분으로 함유하는, 지방간의 예방 또는 치료용 조성물; 지방간을 유도하는 PPARγ와 결합할 수 있는 쥐 CIDE-C 유전자 프로모터; 상기 프로모터 및 리포터 유전자를 포함하는 벡터; 상기 벡터를 포함하는, 지방간을 예방 또는 치료하는 후보물질을 검색하기 위한 키트; 및 상기 벡터를 이용하여 지방간을 예방 또는 치료하는 후보물질을 검색하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 CIDE-C의 발현을 억제하는 물질을 유효성분으로 함유하는 조성물은 지방간의 예방 또는 치료에 유용하다. 또한 본 발명에서 제공되는 쥐 CIDE-C 유전자 프로모터는 PPARγ와 결합하여 CIDE-C 유전자를 발현시켜 지방간의 생성을 촉진하기 때문에, 상기 프로모터를 적절한 리포터 유전자와 융합시킨 벡터를 이용하면 지방간을 예방 또는 치료하는 후보물질을 효과적으로 검색할 수 있으며, 이를 통해 얻어진 후보물질은 CIDE-C 유전자의 발현을 억제하여 간에서 지방의 축적을 억제하므로 지방간의 치료 및 예방에 유용하다.

A composition containing (-)catechin is provided to increase expression of adiponectin by inhibiting expression of a transition factor KLF7(Kruppel-like factor 7) and promotes sugar absorption in adipocytes of mammals, so that the composition is useful for preventing and treating diabetes mellitus, arteriosclerosis and obesity. A composition for preventing and treating diabetes mellitus, arteriosclerosis and obesity contains 0.01-30 wt.%, preferably 1-15 wt.% of (-)catechin represented by the formula(1), wherein the (-)catechin is isolated from green tea. The daily dosage of (-)catechin is 0.1-50 mg/kg, preferably 1-20 mg/kg and the expression of adiponectin in a mammal adipocyte is increased by treating an adipocyte with (-)catechin for 24 hours.

A composition comprising a plant extract is provided to activate the TCA cycle by inducing the IDH3alpha(isocitrate dehydrogenase) gene promoter, thereby promoting the decomposition of lipid and preventing and treating obesity and hyperlipidemia. The composition comprises at least one plant extract selected from the group consisting of an extract of Belamcandae Rhizoma, an extract of Galium spurium, an extract of Persicaria hydropiper, an extract of Chrysanthemum zawadskii var. lucidum, an extract of Pinus koraiensis, and an extract of Cryptotaenia japonica. The extract is prepared by using a solvent selected from the group consisting of ethanol, methanol, butanol, ethylacetate, chloroform and hexane.
