Abstract:
PURPOSE: An apparatus of repeating for transmitting a terrestrial DTV broadcasting signal and additional data and a method thereof are provided to relay additional data inserted into a DTV broadcasting signal. CONSTITUTION: An additional data extracting unit(508) extracts additional data from an output signal of an equalization unit, and outputs the extracted data. An adder(511) combines the DTV signal outputted from the equalization unit with the output of the additional data processing unit. A transmission processing unit modulates the added output, and converts the band of the modulated signal into an RF(Radio Frequency) band. The transmission processing unit amplifies the transmission poser, and amplifies the transmission power. The transmission processing unit transmits the amplified signal through a transmission antenna.

PURPOSE: An on channel relay device and a method thereof are provided to have more superior properties of output signals than properties of input signals. CONSTITUTION: An RF(Radio Frequency) transmission characteristic modeling and reflecting unit(909) models a RF transmission characteristic of an on channel relay device. The RF transmission characteristic modeling and reflecting unit reflects the modeled RF transmission characteristic to a signal in which a relay signal is branched in an output terminal. A feedback signal replica generating unit(910) generates a replica of a feedback signal based on the signal to which the RF transmission characteristic is reflected and an output signal from a subtractor. The feedback signal replica generating unit feeds back the generated replica to the subtractor.

In a digital broadcasting signal transmission system, a transmission frame includes a frame body and a frame header, and the frame body is divided into a plurality of sub-bands in the frequency domain and is divided into a plurality of symbols in the time domain. The frame header is provided in the former part of the transmission frame and is transmitted with a signal in the time domain. The frame body includes a plurality of services, and the services respectively receive at least one sub-band and at least one symbol. The frame header includes information on the plurality of services, and information on the plurality of services includes information on the sub-band and the symbol to which the services are allocated, information on channel encoding levels of the services, and information on digital modulation levels of the services.

A transmitting method, a transmitting apparatus, a receiving method and a receiving apparatus of a digital broadcasting signal are provided to divide a stream into a plurality of layers according to a characteristic of the stream, process each layer independently and dynamically allocate a frequency based on the processed signal. A single stream is divided by a predetermined stream unit. Importance of the divided stream unit is grasped. According to the grasped importance, the divided stream unit is allocated to a plurality of layers(S104). Encoding and mapping about a separate layer are performed(S105,S106). Resources about the separate layer are dynamically allocated based on a symbol number about the separate layer(S107,S108).

계층 복조 장치는 미리 알고 있는 심볼을 바탕으로 기준 심볼을 채널 추정하여 기준 심볼의 채널 추정 값을 생성하고, 기준 심볼의 채널 추정 값을 바탕으로 복수의 정보 심볼을 채널 추정하여 복수의 정보 심볼의 채널 추정 값을 생성하며, 복수의 정보 심볼의 채널 추정 값을 바탕으로 복수의 서비스 심볼을 채널 추정하여 복수의 서비스 심볼의 채널 추정 값을 생성한다. 그리고 기준 심볼의 채널 추정 값, 복수의 정보 심볼의 채널 추정 값, 및 복수의 서비스 심볼의 채널 추정 값을 바탕으로 신호를 채널 등화한 후 채널 등화된 신호를 계층 분리하여 제1 계층 변조 신호와 제2 계층 변조 신호를 생성한다. 이를 통해 기존의 시스템과 호환성을 유지하면서 기본 계층에는 영향을 주지 않고 추가 계층의 수신 성능을 향상시킬 수 있다. An identification signal analyzing apparatus for compensating separation and attenuation of a channel profile and a method thereof are provided to more accurately analyze an identification signal. An identification signal generating unit(404) produces the same identification signal as an identification signal inserted by a transmission side apparatus. A partial correlation unit(405) calculates a correlation value between a receiving signal to/in which a promised identification signal is inserted/received by a transmission side apparatus and the identification signal generated by the identification signal generating unit through a partial correlation method. A correlation value compensation unit(406) compensates for separation and attenuation of the correlation value calculated with the partial correlation unit. A channel profile extracting unit(407) extracts a channel profile from the correlation value compensated by the correlation value compensation unit.

An identical channel relay apparatus and a method thereof for relaying output signal the same as input signal to the identical channel are provided to correct the channel distortion of the received signal by estimating the reverse of the receive channel from the signal removing feedback. A subtracting unit(803) subtracts replica of feedback signal from a converted signal by an RF receiver(802). A replica generating unit(804) produces the replica of feedback based on the signal which is downward transformed into the prescribed band by a down-converter(808) and the signal outputted from the subtracting unit. A reverse channel estimating unit(805) generates filter tap coefficient by estimating the reverse of the received channel. A first adaptive filtering unit(806) performs filtering by using the filter tap coefficient generated by the reverse channel estimating unit.

A transmission method, a transmitting device, a receiving method, a receiving device and a transmission frame structure of the digital broadcasting signal are provided to support various transmission modes in digital satellite broadcasting(DTV or DMB). A stream offering unit(100) converts a plurality of program service configuration elements into stream. A multiplexer(200) modulates the stream into the mode determined according to the transmission mode. A transmission frame generating unit(300) generates a transfer frame based on multiplexed information and stream information allocated to each sub channel according to the transmission mode. A frame header includes the transfer frame. A frame body includes data information about the service.

Co-channel relaying equipment and a method thereof are provided to increase the use efficiency of restricted frequency resources. Co-channel relaying equipment comprises the followings: a receiving means(802) receiving radio frequency signals; a subtraction means(803) subtracting the replica of a feedback signal from the signal received by the receiving means; a replica generation means(804) which produces a replica based on the signal subtracted by the subtraction means and feeds the replica back to the subtraction means; a reverse channel estimation means(805) which generates a filter tap coefficient by estimating the inverse of a reception channel based on the subtracted signal; the first adaptive filtering means(806) which compensates for the channel distortion of the subtracted signal by using the filter tap coefficient generated by the reverse channel estimation means; and a transmitting means(807) which converts the signal in which the channel distortion is compensated into a radio frequency signal, and then wirelessly transmit the converted signal.
