Abstract:
A soluble zinc polyphosphate complex made by combining ingredients which include an organic zinc salt and a plurality of long chain polyphosphates having 6 or more phosphate polymer units, the organic zinc salt and long chain polyphosphates being mixed in amounts that provide a phosphorus to zinc mole ratio of 15:1 to about 55:1. Further provided is a method of making this soluble zinc polyphosphate.
Abstract:
The disclosure provides an improved synthesis for a zinc-lysine complex having the formula [Zn(C6H14N2O2)2Cl]+Cl−, in which zinc chloride is reacted with lysine, in aqueous solution. The disclosure also provides oral care and personal care compositions comprising the complex prepared by the synthesis, and methods of using these complexes and compositions.

Abstract:
Disclosed herein are orally acceptable topical analgesic gels comprising a mixture of analgesic oils comprising (a) clove oil and/or eugenol, (b) a cooling agent, and (c) camphor; in an orally acceptable gel base, the gel base providing controlled release of the mixture of analgesic oils following application to a tooth; together with methods of making and using the same.
Abstract:
Disclosed are processes for producing Arginine by fermentation in which sugars obtained by enzymatic starch hydrolysis from inexpensive starch containing agro-wastes, such as Cassava bagasse and Jackfruit seed powder, are fermented in the presence of microorganisms to produce a fermentated liquor containing Arginine, and recovering Arginine from the liquor. The process can economically be scaled up for the production of Arginine from unrefined sugar sources as it produced Arginine in higher yields, when compared to more expensive synthetic carbon sources, like dextrose or sucrose.
Abstract:
A cleansing bar comprising at least one member chosen from clay and talc, wherein a total amount of clay and talc is present in an amount that is greater than any other material in the cleansing bar, at least one cleanser chosen from soap and surfactant, and a binder present in an amount to structure the cleansing bar into a bar.
Abstract:
A composition of matter comprising an oil adduct synthesized by an oil and an addition material, wherein the oil includes at least one member chosen from an ethoxylated oil, a hydrogenated oil, and an ethoxylated and hydrogenated oil; wherein the average degree of ethoxylation in the ethoxylated (optionally hydrogenated) oil is less than about 10 based on moles of ethylene oxide per mole of oil; wherein the hydrogenated (optionally ethoxylated) oil has an iodine value of less than about 75; wherein the oil is capable of undergoing reaction with the addition material through a hydroxyl group of the oil; and wherein the addition material includes at least one member chosen from carboxylic acid anhydrides, maleic anhydride, dicarboxylic acids, fumaric acid, maleic acid, succinic acid, alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, lactic acid, glycolic acid, lactobionic acid, carnitine, salicylic acid, and (meth)acrylic acid.
