Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip antenna that can improve the effective gain of the antenna and a communication line quality. SOLUTION: A chip antenna comprise; an electrode terminal 3 arranged on a side of a ground conductor of a substrate of a dielectric 4; an antenna element 5 arranged on a face opposite to the ground conductor of the substrate; a conductive element 6 whose one end is connected to the antenna element 5 and which is arranged in the substrate between the antenna element 5 and the electrode terminal 3 and arranged vertically to the ground conductor and the face opposite to the ground conductor; power feeder lines 7, 8 having an extended part parallel to the antenna element 5 connected to a position between the conductor element 6 and the electrode terminal 3. The antenna element 5 can be changed to a predetermined shape. For example, the other element can be arranged bear the antenna element 5 and the conductor element 6.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip antenna which can improve effective antenna gain and improve circuit quality by enabling transmission/reception of plural kinds of linearly polarized wave. SOLUTION: A chip antenna 1 is formed in a rectangular parallelepiped dielectric block 4. A first linear radiating element 6 is formed on one side (the upper surface) of the dielectric block 4. A second radiating element 5 is bent and connected to one end G of the radiating element 6 and on one side of the dielectric block 4. The dielectric block 4 has a ground conductor 2 on the other side (the bottom surface). A third radiating element 8 connects the ground conductor 2 and the other end C of the radiating element 6 approximately vertically to the ground conductor 2. The other side of the dielectric block 4 has a first electrode 3 for insulation from the ground conductor 2. A feeder line is connected between the electrode 3 and a point P of the radiating element 6. Elements 5 and 6 transmit/receive horizontally polarized waves, while the element 8 and an element 7 of the feeder line transmit/receive vertically polarized waves.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a high gain in a wide elevation range by increasing or reducing the radius of an antenna by numbers of turns or increasing or reducing the density of lines by numbers of turns. CONSTITUTION:A diameter D of winding of helical conductors 5 and 6 is fixed, and the density of lines of helical conductors is changed by numbers of turns. That is, pitch intervals Lp1, Lp2,... are made longer accrding as going downward from the upper part or the antenna. In this antenna consisting of two helical conductors 5 and 6, the high frequency power supplied from the lower part of the antenna by a coaxial cable is converted from an unbalanced power to a balanced power through a U balun 2, and currents having opposite phases flow to two helical conductors. Currents supplied from the upper end part of the antenna are attenuated while radiating circularly polarized waves in desired directions on the way of flow to the lower end. Consequently, a high circularly polarized wave gain is obtained in a wide range.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain satellite tracking simply and inexpensively by providing a bias line provided to impress a bias voltage to a diode and turning on/off the diode so as to switch a forming direction of a pencile beam. CONSTITUTION:In impressing a bias voltage to the base, a diode 7 is turned on/off and the tip of both the stubs 6 is short-circuited or opened. The impedance of both the stubs 6 viewed from a transformer 9 in this state is capacitive for one and inductive for the other. The line impedances Zs, Zk of both the stubs 6 are selected so that the absolute value of the capacitive and inductive impedances is equal to each other and the impedance Zt based thereupon is used to allow the transformer 9 to take matching the impedance Z0 of main lines 12a, 12b. That is, the diode 7 is driven by the switch to obtain two different exciting phase quantity and the maximum radiation direction of the antenna (forming direction of pencil beam) is switched into +theta and -theta with respect to the reference axis without moving the antenna of its own. Then the switching drive of the diode 7 is applied at a high speed, then high speed switching is attained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make a using frequency band width into a wide band by providing a conductor at the prescribed forward position of an annular radiator and widening the flat area of a return loss characteristic. CONSTITUTION:An annular frame part 7a is the one in which the outer circumference shape is the same as the outer circumference shape of a radiator 1 and the size of the outer shape is the same or a little smaller. A shorting shaft part 7b shorts and connects the prescribed inner circumferential position section as the annular frame part 7 is divided into two and the shaft width comes to be the approximately equal width as the frame width of the frame part 7a. An annular conductor 7 composed of such the annular frame part 7a and the shorting shaft part 7b causes the forming direction of the shorting shaft part 7b to be consistent with the electric field direction of the radiation electromagnetic field and is provided at the prescribed forward position of the said radiator, for example, the position of an about 0.6 wave length. As the result, since the annular conductor 7 works as a compensating circuit to suppress the quick change of the reactance of an input impedance, the flat area of the return loss characteristic is extended.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate the installation of a simple mobile station by tilting a floor of a bed of a car body at a free angle to ground and fixing a plane antenna to the bed so as to eliminate the need for a direction adjustment of the antenna. CONSTITUTION:The plane antenna 2 is fitted fo the front (seat side) of a bed 3 whose elevating angle to ground is varied. An array antenna of a microstrip punch antenna using a printed circuit board in pace of a parabolic antenna is used. As to the direction of the antenna, the bed 3 is tilted by a desired angle with respect to ground and the antenna has only to be matched in the direction of a satellite, then the azimuth direction is the direction of the driver's seat of the truck 1 and the elevating angle of the bed is adjusted with respect to the elevating direction.

The antenna has a power reception/feeding portion 30 receiving and feeding electric power between conductive materials on both sides of the base line portion 13 of the arrow-shaped slit 10 so as to exhibit an antenna function.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna which has a planar thin shape and a wideband, is capable of power feeding without using direct soldering and keeps a matching characteristic excellent even near a human body. SOLUTION: The antenna includes two radiation elements 10, 30 which have approximately the same shape and are plate-shaped and a band-like element 50 of which one terminal portion is connected to at least one of the two radiation elements. The two radiation elements are disposed while being deviated in such a way that a first side of one radiation element and a second side of the other radiation element are made parallel and both the sides are partially opposed to each other. The two radiation elements become approximately line-symmetric when moved parallely from the layout so that the first and second sides are opposed to each other parallely. One terminal part of the band-like element is connected to a side, other than the first or second side of at least one of the two radiation element, another terminal part is opened, and the two radiation elements are supplied with power at such predetermined positions that the first and second sides are partially opposed to each other.
