Abstract: PURPOSE:To damage hardly a film on a high speed process and to make decrease in an image quality less when a dubbing is performed by specifying the mean particle diameter and the content of a particle and the product of a thickness deviation of a film surface in the MD direction and a thickness deviation in the TD direction. CONSTITUTION:The title film is a biaxially oriented thermoplastic resin film with a thickness of 0.005-3 mum wherein a thermoplastic resin A contg. a particle is a main ingredient and the mean particle diameter and the content of the particle are respectively 0.1-10-fold of the film thickness and 0.5-50 wt.% and the product of a thickness deviation (%) of a film surface in the MD direction and a thickness deviation (%) thereof in the TD direction is 750 or smaller. As the thermoplastic resin A, when a polyester, above all, a polyester contg. a structural unit selected from ethylene terephthalate, ethylene alpha, beta-bis(2- chlorophenoxy)ethane-4,4-dicarboxylate and ethylene 2,6-naphthalate units as a main constituting ingredient is used, scratch resistance and dubbing resistance become better and when it is crystalline or optically anisotropic under molten state, scratch resistance and dubbing resistance become better.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To raise anti-scratching property and keep transparency high and thus obtain most suitable matters used for the base films of a leader tape or thermal transferring magnetic recording medium by achieving the high density and height uniformity for protrusions on the surface of a biaxially oriented polyester film. CONSTITUTION:A biaxially oriented polyester film is of a type that a film consisting mainly of polyester A and inactive particles is laminated at least on one surface of a film consisting mainly of polyester film B through co-extrusion, wherein the average particle diameter of the inactive particles is 0.3 - 10 times of a laminated film thickness of the polyester film A containing inactive particles, and the numbers of surface protrusions on a laminated film layer of the polyester A are 5,000 pieces/mm or more, and the turbidity value is 40 % or lower. When the ratio of average particle diameter/laminated film thickness is smaller than the above-mentioned range, the height of the protrusions becomes ununiform, with the result that the transparency and anti-scratching property become poor, on the contrary, in the case of being larger, the surface protrusions are liable to grind, resulting in a poor anti- scratching property. By using this biaxially oriented polyester film, a leader tape and thermal transferring magnetic recording medium can be obtained, which have a very high quality in both of anti-scratching property and transparency.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a biaxially oriented laminated film having good scratch resistance by laminating a thermoplastic resin A film containing inert particles and specific higher aliphatic carboxylic acid to the single surface of a thermoplastic resin B film. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic resin A compounded with inert particles and a predetermined amount of at least one of 10 - 33C higher aliphatic monocarboxylic acid and ester, amide or a metal compound thereof is synthesized. This thermoplastic resin A and a thermoplastic resin B are supplied to an extruder for melt lamination to be extruded into a sheet form from the slit like die thereof and the exrudate is cooled and solidified to obtain a non- stretched film. This non-stretched film is biaxially stretched to form a biaxially oriented laminated film wherein the mean particle size of the inert particles is 0.2 - 5 times the A-layer, the content of the inert fine particles in the A-layer is 2 - 20 wt.% and the thickness of the A-layer is 0.1 - 3mum.

CONSTITUTION:The base film consists of the biaxially oriented themoplastic resin film formed by laminating a film essentially consisting of a thermoplastic resin A and the inert particles on one surface of a film essentially consisting of a thermoplastic resin B by co-extrusion. The perpendicular magnetic recording medium is formed by laminating the perpendicularly magnetized film on one surface of the base film. The average grain size of the inert particles is specified to 0.1 to 10 times the thickness of the laminated film of the thermoplastic resin A contg. the inert particles. The content of the inert particles in the laminated film of the thermoplastic resin A is specified to 0.5 to 20wt.%.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the title film having minute projections on the surface, exhibiting a specified coefficient of dynamic friction with a guide pin and having excellent resistance to scraping, electromagnetic transformation characteristics etc., by incorporating fine particles in a polyester and making it into a film. CONSTITUTION:This biaxially oriented polyester film has minute projections on the surface and a coefficient of dynamic friction muk of 0.19-0.27 with a guide pin having a surface roughness of 0.05-10mum. Furthermore, the ratio of a resistance of dynamic friction muk with a guide pin having a surface roughness of 0.4-0.6mum to a resistance of dybamic friction muk with a guide pin having a surface roughness of 4-6mum is 1.3 or less. To prepare this biaxially oriented polyester film, a specified amt. of spherical silica, calcium carbonate, styrene- divinylbenzene copolymer paticles etc., are incorporated in the polyester and then film formation and drawing in the biaxial direction are performed. The obtd. film is suitably used as various magnetic recording media etc.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a biaxially oriented polyester film excellent in scratch resistance and running property by a method wherein the surface roughness mean value of roughened surface, coefficient of curvature and the ratio of the surface roughness mean value to the coefficient of curvature are made to be within the specified ranges respectively. CONSTITUTION:At least one side of a biaxially oriented polyester film is roughened. The surface roughness mean value R of the roughened surface is made to be 0.025-0.075mum, its coefficient of curvature (r) is made to be 50-200mum at the same time the ratio r/R of the coefficient of curvature (r) to ths surface roughness mean value R is made to be 1200-6000. If the surface roughness mean value R is below 0.025mum, the film does not smoothly slide and unsatisfactory running property results. If R exceeds 0.075mum, poor scratch resistance results. If the coefficient or curvature (r) is below 50mum, scratch increases. If (r) exceeds 200mum, the film does not smoothly slide and unsatisfactory running property results. If r/R is smaller than 1200, unsatisfactory scratch resistance results. If r/R exceeds 6000, unsatisfactory running property results. By making the surface roughness mean value of the roughened surface, the coefficient of curvature and the ratio of the latter to the former to be within the specified ranges as mentioned above, a film excellent in scratch resistance and running property is obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a biaxially oriented polyester film excellent in both of lubricity and abrasion resistance, by specifying the crystallization acceleration coefficient of inert inorganic particles added to a polyester and the flatness of the protrusions of the surface (beta=dia/height of protrusion) of a film so that a specified relationship may hold between them. CONSTITUTION:A biaxially oriented polyester film based on a composition comprising a polyester (e.g., polyethylene terephthalate) and at least one kind of inert inorganic particles (e.g., silica or alpha-alumina) is produced. In this production, the crystallization acceleration coefficient alpha of said inert inorganic particles and flatness of the protrusions of the surface beta of a film are specified so that they may satisfy formulas I and II. In this way, the fine viscoelastic behavior of the surface of a film can be controlled, so that a biaxially oriented polyester film excellent in lubricity and chipping resistance of the surface of a film and suitable as a videotape base film or the like can be obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title film excellent in gloss, adhesiveness, running performance at high temperature and high humidity and abrasion resistance, comprising a specified polyester copolymer composition. CONSTITUTION:A dicarboxylic acid is reacted with a diol in the presence of a polyfunctional organic compound having a 6C or higher long-chain alkyl group (e.g., 1,2-octanediol) and inert particles (e.g., CaCO3) of an average particle diameter of 0.08-5mu and 0.06-4wt.% organic particles to obtain a polyester copolymer composition having copolymerized repeating units having a 6C or higher long-chain alkyl group as a side chain. This composition is mixed with a polymer containing internal particles and a polymer containing no particles, and this mixture is molded into a sheet to obtain an unstretched film. This film is uniaxially or biaxially stretched at 70-130 deg.C and a stretch ratio of 2-5, heat-treated at 130-250 deg.C and subjected to corona discharge treatment with an applied electric energy of 5-70W.min per m of the film to be treated to obtain a polyester film of which the surface roughness Ra on at least either surface is 0.005-0.09mum.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare a magnetic recording tape or magnetic disk generating no clogging of a head, by applying a magnetic recording medium to a film having projections having a specific height and comprising a fluorocarbon polymer formed thereto. CONSTITUTION:A polyester raw material is extruded from a film forming machine in a molten state while the extrudate is solidified under cooling and subsequently uniaxially stretched by 3-4 times at 90 deg.C to be subjected to corona discharge treatment. An emulsion composition of a fluorine-containing polymer (2-perfluorononeroxy ethyl methacrylate) formed into projections is applied to the formed film 1 and the coated film is stretched in the lateral direction at 100 deg.C. At last, the stretched film is heat-treated at 210 deg.C to obtain smooth projections 2 of the film. Each smooth projection 2 has the max. surface roughness of 0.05-0.06mum. A magnetic recording medium is applied onto the projections to obtain a magnetic recording tape.
