    Abstract: An expandable well screen has a desirable thin-wall construction together with a simplified fabrication method. In fabricating the screen, a flexible sheet of metal mesh filter media is diffusion bonded to an inner side of a perforated metal sheet which is then deformed to a tubular shape to form a filter structure having an outer perforated tubular shroud interiorly lined with the filter media. The tubular filter structure is telescoped onto a perforated base pipe and has its opposite ends sealingly secured thereto to complete the expandable well screen.

    Abstract: A tubular filter element has a filtering material extending over a whole length and having in its interior a hollow chamber so that during a filtering operation the filtering material is loaded from outside with a medium to be filtered which passes through the filtering material from outside inwardly to the hollow chamber, a back wash aid arranged in the hollow chamber, a coaxial inner tube located in the hollow chamber of the filtering material and arranged at least at some locations with a distance from the filtering material so as to form at least one intermediate chamber, the inner tube having a tubular wall and being provided at least substantially in a lower longitudinal region with throughgoing passages extending through the tube wall and formed so that, for back washing of the filtering material a back washing medium is supplied opposite to a filtering operation on the one hand into an interior of the inner tube and through the throughgoing passages and on the other hand also into the at least one intermediate chamber and from the latter from inside outwardly through the filtering material.

    Abstract: The invention is a spin-on type filter with a reclaimed permanent filter casing and permanent filtering media that are washable and reusable. There are three distinct progressive filtering systems that function simultaneously,but separately within one filter housing, one is the full flow filtering at 10 micron capability while the other is in its bypass fine filtering mode at 1 to 3 micron filtering capability. In addition, a safety full flow filter can be activated to filter the return oil while the main full flow medium is fouled. Each system can be implemented with multiple media. The main body of the filter, which comprises the filter head and the media, can be separated easily for servicing from its casing which is designed to attach to the engine. Fine stainless steel cloths are utilized as filtering media which can last the life of an engine Furthermore, magnets arc utilized to trap suspending metal filings in oil flow. The design of the main filter body as such is that any used conventional filter canister can be simply adapted to it or a new filter canister casing can be utilized whichever is the advantage at the time of installation and of in production.

    Abstract: A back-flushable filter cartridge includes a cylindrical exterior fluid-permeable filter media cage, a cylindrical interior fluid-permeable core element coaxially disposed within the filter media cage so as to establish therebetween an interior space, and longitudinally pleated filter media surrounding the core element and disposed in the interior space such that individual pleats thereof extend substantially radially outwardly from the core element.
